OK, so I'm a SATC fan. (Please don't flame me :P) And I'm super excited about the new movie coming out. Admittedly, I do feel that the choice of locale is quite strange... How the producers came to decide that Abu Dhabi (or rather, any Muslim country) was appropriate for a movie/series based on endless talk of sex and heavy consumption of alcohol is really beyond me.
That being said, I still am ridiculously looking forward to seeing the new movie. Not only are their fashions always flamboyant and fun, but the salaciousness of their conversations always makes me laugh. It reminds me of the great times spent with my good girl friends. But since we're strewn all around the country now, I'm going to have to drag my poor SO to see the movie with me. (Truth be told, he's seen more episodes than I have... haha.) So I came up with some dresses that would look SATC & Abu Dhabi inspired.
My criteria: Flowy dresses that would accommodate the blazing sun and hot hot weather seen in the movie. Color is also important. I can't imagine SATC girls wearing anything that didn't just pop! And although they all seem to wear full-length dresses (due to the modesty/cultural requirements, I imagine?), I figured that it'd be okay to show some leg here. :)

I like the first dress because the flowy layers are very girly and makes me want to twirl around or reenact the walk like an egyptian dance move
the second dress would make the shoulders appear broader than they actually are due to the loose sleeves and loose v-neck top and smocked waist. the third dress looks like something sarah jessica parker would actually wear in the movie and in real life. I'd wear the first dress. not a fan of SATC.
I'm pretty excited about the movie. I watched the entire series in about a week or two.
