I'm really trying to understand the dynamic relationship behind a dog and their owner. My friend recently told me that I missed out on one of the grossest things she saw the other night when I decided to stay home instead of trekking out in the rain.
They were all hanging out at B's house and his gf has a little dog. Within the hour, the dog has licked everyone's feet upon entrance (it's an Asian household so all shoes must come off), ate food off the floor, licked it's own ass and then proceeded to lick and kiss B's girlfriend all over her face and mouth. Now, it's not one of those simple one lick and you're done. This girl LOVES her dog. It's her baby. So from what I heard, they were practically making out. I mean, the dog's tongue is inside her freaking mouth. And then, she walks over to B and starts to make out with him. My friend telling me this story wanted to throw up on the spot.
Later on that night when B was hugging and kissing everyone good bye, my friend kind of side stepped and gave him the air hug and faux kiss instead. B looked at her like "Weirdo, what the hell?" So my friend told him that she was grossed out by what she saw and felt skeeved out that B had dog saliva on him. B apparently didn't know that his gf was kissing her little dog before kissing him because he almost threw up on his door steps. I'm guessing it's not a habit he likes or approves of.
I don't know what happened afterwards but when my friend told me, my first initial reaction was to gag. I don't care how clean a dog's mouth is but seriously? It's licked dirty wet feet, dirty floor AND it's own dirty ass. You have got to be kidding me!
Is there such a thing as being too close to your pet? If your SO kisses their dog open-mouth constantly, would it gross you out? Do you find it disturbing or is it just me?

Gross. I love my dog too, but I don't make out with it. Blehhh.
*barf*
well... they say a dog's mouth is cleaner than a human's....I think that would be a deal-breaker for me. It's wrong on so, so many levels. Ugh, I wanna gag just thinking about it.
@nodnarbassoon@xanga - Oh, that's bullcrap! I've heard it all before, but I don't buy it. At least most humans don't eat their own fecal matter.
I used to let my cats eat food out of my mouth. Like, if I was eating a tuna sandwich and they came up I'd open up my mouth and let them eat right off my tongue.
Of course I was only like 7 or 8 so I saw nothing wrong but now I'd be afraid of how dirty the animal is. Bleh!
WTF!....I'm a pretty damn good-looking dog!..and I brush!
my boyfriend does that... it's disgusting. he lets the dog lick his mouth all over...
needless to say i dont kiss him for a while after
those people probably put anything in their mouths. not hot. a peck is okay but if my SO makes out with the dog, ughh. if my SO had a dog, I prefer if it was a guard dog who is strictly business like a bodyguard, not some substitute kid.
That is disgusting.
our mouths automatically cleans itself every 5 minutes from the saliva glands. I'm sure dogs have a faster cleaning rate too.
she probably gives great head! lol
but yea it is pretty gross.
It's disgusting and there's absolutely no reason why it should ever be seen as otherwise.
Ew, gross.
I don't care how fast a mouth cleans itself; tonguing a dog is disgusting on several levels.
hahahahhahahaha, ewwwwwwww.
I hate dogs, and get grossed out if they even lick my hand.
So yeah, I find that pretty fucking disturbing.
I love my dog! I let her lick my face all the time... but never open mouth, that's not my thing. I just go to the bathroom and wash my face after she's kissed me.
She also kisses my boyfriend.. and any other human she can get close enough to that pets her.I cannot stand it when people practically make-out with their dog, it is BEYOND disgusting. I wouldn't let my dog lick my hand, much less my mouth, geez!
Compared to some of the other creepy (and illegal) shit people do with dogs, this isn't that bad. Dogs mouths ARE cleaner than humans.
However -- EW. Gross, gross, gross. DX
That is disgusting.
Isn't the human mouth one of the most disgusting places? It's probably more disgusting that the dog is kissing her rather the other way around. lol
I let dogs lick my face and lips, but in my mouth is a different story. I'm not cool with that, for me anyway. What other people do, I really don't care.
my dog licks my chin and cheeks mostly, and i make sure i firmly seal my mouth before letting him kiss me. i love him and all... but there are boundaries ahahaha
I let my dog lick me on the cheek but I am grossed out by her tongue.
umm... getting licked by a pet is one thing but making out with a pet is another story. dats so gross, so discussing dat i was about to vomit..... yuck...and den hug ever1 goodbye? i wld b like dude, wash urself den hug me.
@tips@hardestlevel - @Hermeown@xanga - @nodnarbassoon@xanga - Yeah,"they" say that, but it's false.
It's based off an old med article that claimed that human bite cases had a higher chance of becoming infected than that of dog bites. This is false too however. It all depends on what bacteria happen to be in the dog's mouth. It varies from dog to dog and of course, sanitary habits have a BIG influence. I'm sorry, but nothing that licks it's ass after taking a shit is "sanitary" or even "clean".
The only way you could argue this is that a dogs mouth has more "dog specific" microbes in it. This may be true, but as far as dental hygiene goes, there are multiple genera of bacteria which infect both.
I have a dog, I know what gross things it does. I also let it lick my face. Not my mouth, but my face. Though my dog has occasionally gotten a sneak attack on my and her tongue slipped into my mouth, I've never gotten sick from it. Doesn't really matter though, a dog's mouth is just as germ filled.
Umm, this is not any grosser than making out with people in my opinion.
That being said, I do close my mouth when my dog wants to lick my face.
