My friend tells me these great analogies. Two of them I'd like to share:
She once said that "a relationship can be like a chemical reaction or a physical reaction." The ones that are like a chemical reactions are the ones with the bf/gf that you thought you would spend the rest of your life with. Since that didn't go out too well, you can't go back to how things 'used to be' where friendship is an option.
It'll be really awkward if there was an attempt. While a physical reaction only changes the outside appearance of someone. Friendship, for example, can change how you look upon yourself. So you have a problem, you go to them to solve the problem. It's more like a helpful, "I really care for you" relationship that would stay steady while having a bf/gf would be more radical of some sort.
Now here's the explanation of the saying, "Girls are like spaghetti and guys are like waffles." In a girl's mind or conversation, there could be so many things going on at once. Topped with some sauce or some spice, there's things that are overloaded and such. It's basically all jumbled up, but understandable that it's just one.
Guys tend to have to fill up every single waffle square with syrup. Things have to be thought out systematically. Sometimes if you skip one you get an empty thought. Things have to be done following things the way they want them to be. If the syrup is overfilled, it just spills over to another thought square. And the process goes so on.

If a guy listens to two girls having a heart to heart conversation, the guy wouldn't understand one thing unless he is also tight with both girls. Even though girls jump from one topic to another, within a conversation, there's been 3 things that have been discussed. But if a girl goes to a guy's conversation, she might be able to pick it up only if she hangs around with guys that commonly discuss these topics.
Today, my friend and I were just discussing on the topic. Our other friends, that are guys, sat across from us. We were talking and talking while they just stared blankly at us. She then stated, "guys are like waffles." They look back puzzled. "Girls are like spaghetti." They thought for a while. They both blurted out things like "guys are organized and girls like to be messy?" and other things like that.
We both ended up explaining to them. They thought for a while then gave a sigh of not quite understanding. Even though this doesn't apply to everyone. There are always those exceptions to the case. But in the general open mind of things, is it agreeable?
What are your thoughts on these analogies? Do you agree?

I touch myself to stereotypes at night. What do you do?
AGREED entirely!!!!!! :D
My best friend and I speak in incomplete thoughts because we understand each other. I don't have to explain anything to her. No one else can follow along... haha even other girls can't follow along.
@schallerbrandon@xanga - hahahahahaa. win.
Women are more in tune with their emotional sides than men I guess. Men are more like salsa and women are like strawberry tarts.
Agreed
But what if I don't LIKE spaghetti. Can't I be like ice cream instead? Or won tons?
@schallerbrandon@xanga - *high five*
I don't get that analogy.
I don't get the analogy either.
I think I am more like waffles with whipped cream and strawberries on top.
Ironic. I dislike both waffles and spaggetti..
Can I be a dragon fruit instead? Those are kickass.
why can't women be like fried chicken? then, we can have chicken and waffles. yum....
The only thing this article did was make me hungry.
They say that men put things in boxes, so in a way I got where your waffle analogy was trying to go, but I don't think it's entirely true.
And spaghetti is actually pretty neat. How about jambalaya, or stew, or fruit salad?
I want waffles for breakfast now
@Red_Apocalypse_Horse@xanga - @sexyscorpions@xanga - me neither. Are you guys too?! lol
jumping from conversation to conversation,...sounds more like A.D.D. =P
but I totally understand what you're saying because I do that with my girl friends and my guy friends are always 2-3 topics behind...I've heard this analogy, and I still think it sucks. YES WE KNOW ALREADY. Stereotypes are fun. But they're also wrong, and it just leads to people constantly generalizing things that should never have been generalized in the first place.
reverse misogyny for everyone!
What about women that are waffles and men that are spaghetti?
A chemical reaction is a physical reaction. Analogies that try and simply something as complex as two people existing together in any romantic sense are generally contrived and stupid.
this blog made me want to go to ihop or something and get waffles... lol
Whenever I think of comparing guys to waffles, I think of cavemen. You know, simple minded.
Yeah, no guy I've ever talked to has had trouble keeping up with my conversation. Maybe I'm not spagetti and I didn't even realize it.
it certainly explains a lot. Much in the same way when two engineers talk to each other. Almost no one else understands what the hell they're talking about.
@lil_fire_bella@xanga - I suppose it means you and your friend have known each other for a very long time.
@schallerbrandon@xanga - I think that's the best way to comment on a post like this... We can only fight the ridiculous with things that are more ridiculous...
I am more like liver and onions, you have to give me a chance and decide if you like me and if you don't, then I'm not your taste.
