  • Girls Are Like Spaghetti, Guys Are Like Waffles

My friend tells me these great analogies. Two of them I'd like to share:

She once said that "a relationship can be like a chemical reaction or a physical reaction." The ones that are like a chemical reactions are the ones with the bf/gf that you thought you would spend the rest of your life with. Since that didn't go out too well, you can't go back to how things 'used to be' where friendship is an option.

It'll be really awkward if there was an attempt. While a physical reaction only changes the outside appearance of someone. Friendship, for example, can change how you look upon yourself. So you have a problem, you go to them to solve the problem. It's more like a helpful, "I really care for you" relationship that would stay steady while having a bf/gf would be more radical of some sort.

Now here's the explanation of the saying, "Girls are like spaghetti and guys are like waffles." In a girl's mind or conversation, there could be so many things going on at once. Topped with some sauce or some spice, there's things that are overloaded and such. It's basically all jumbled up, but understandable that it's just one.

Guys tend to have to fill up every single waffle square with syrup. Things have to be thought out systematically. Sometimes if you skip one you get an empty thought. Things have to be done following things the way they want them to be. If the syrup is overfilled, it just spills over to another thought square. And the process goes so on.

If a guy listens to two girls having a heart to heart conversation, the guy wouldn't understand one thing unless he is also tight with both girls. Even though girls jump from one topic to another, within a conversation, there's been 3 things that have been discussed. But if a girl goes to a guy's conversation, she might be able to pick it up only if she hangs around with guys that commonly discuss these topics.

Today, my friend and I were just discussing on the topic. Our other friends, that are guys, sat across from us. We were talking and talking while they just stared blankly at us. She then stated, "guys are like waffles." They look back puzzled. "Girls are like spaghetti." They thought for a while. They both blurted out things like "guys are organized and girls like to be messy?" and other things like that.

We both ended up explaining to them. They thought for a while then gave a sigh of not quite understanding. Even though this doesn't apply to everyone. There are always those exceptions to the case. But in the general open mind of things, is it agreeable?

What are your thoughts on these analogies? Do you agree?
