Romantic Summer Vacation Ideas
My friend, *Tasha, and her boyfriend, *Mark, have been together for four years now, but have yet to go on a real vacation together! (Trips to the Jersey Shore don't count.) Betweeen Tasha going to med school and Mark caring for his sick grandmother, there's never really been enough time or money for them to escape to somewhere fabulous. They've both been putting in overtime at work for months now to save up for a romantic getaway this summer, but now they don't know where to go!
They've been tossing around a few ideas...
- a few nights at a couples' resort like Sandals...sultry and romantic
- an Alaskan cruise...mystical and beautiful
- a Carribean cruise...sexy and relaxed
- a trip to Disney World...cute and fun
- a week in Hollywood...glamorous and classic
What do you guys think is the best choice? Any other (not too expensive) options you want to throw out there? Where have you and your honey vacayed to?

all inclusive couples resort. unlimited time for it just to be about them in a very romantic environment designed for couples. nothing quite as romantic as a jacuzzi on the terrace and a hammock on the beach and candle lit dinners for two.
me and my girlfriend are planning a little road trip. it's cheap, spontaneous, and exciting.
My idea of a romantic vacation is going backpacking in the wilderness.
i would go to disney worlddd!!!
OR the harry potter park in fl :)
Btw, does anyone know what there is to do in hollywood?
I like going road tripping, like someone else said. Go to places Luray caverns, museums, forests, picnicking, painting, etc etc :)
@swtaznxtc90@xanga - OMG Harry Potter and Disney World FTW! Nice. Have yet to go to both of 'em, so for right now I'm settling with the original Disneyland =P
For Hollywood there's Universal Studios, Universal City, always some sort of concert at Club Nokia/Staples Center/Greek Theater, downtown LA exploring, downtown Pasadena, Chinese Theater, Pantages Theater (saw Wicked and Phantom of the Opera there), and so many more. You can easily find lists online :)
Anyway, my boyfriend and I are planning our first small and affordable road trip together for our 3 year anniversary. I think I'll just check back to this post tomorrow to look for some ideas :) Right now, we're thinking Big Sur further up north in CA. About 6 hours from here.
dont go to hollywood. i live here now, not as "glamarous" as its made out to be. its actually dirty! maybe try norcal the vineyards and such...
Not Hollywood for sure! I also live right around there and its pretty dirty/sketchy... not very glam like someone said above... if you're going to California go somewhere relaxing and away from all the people/traffic like a bed & breakfast in Santa Barbara or something (if they really wanna go to Hollywood they can drive there then)
And not Disney World... too many lines, children, people... not relaxing enough, especially in the heat.... more romantic to go to some resort in Florida instead with spas together and such
my bf and i are going down to virginia beach for a few days to getaway from the crazy life. i heard that apple vacations are inexpensive too.
Personally, Id like to go to Polynesia ( Bora Bora/Tahiti) someday cus they have the huts on the water and they serve ur breakfast by boat. Ive been with my bf for 5 yrs now too and still havent gone to a real vaca....the farthest weve gone is upstate NY 3 hrs away with his family. My stepmom dont believe in staying in the same roof till were married.
my boyfriend and I have been together for a year and so far we haven't really gotten a vacation yet although we have gone to visit my family and his. we're moving across teh country together though, so that's going to tie up our finances for the next while! I'd love to do an all-inclusive with him and someday when we have enough money we really want to go to ireland together.
New Caledonia is a must-see and said to be a perfect place for couples. :D
Her and I are going to Disney World in June for a week (and another week of being together in person). I can't wait to see her!
those don't count as too expensive?
i think disney world would be incredibly fun, but i absolutely love amusement parks. anywhere with sand, sun, and a pretty beach sounds amazing to me. i'd go to mexico if cost were no object.
Wow those all sound really nice actually. Except the disney one.....but I'm biased because I think disney is the root of all evil. The other ones sound great though!
Going to Disney World with my boyfriend this weekend! :) I would suggest going there They have really fun rides and good shows
@swtaznxtc90@xanga - YES to everything you said! ESPECIALLY about the Harry Potter park :)

Your ideas are really helpful and I think that is very awesome. I hope you could also list down a few simple ideas for summer vacation for the one's who can't afford to have that kind of vacation. =) Maybe, I'll just go for the non-expensive type of vacation. For me, simple is the best as long as I'm with the people I'm closed. Also, it would be best if we can able to do some green stuffs for our environment. That would be fun.Â
You should try reading travel blogs because a lot of bloggers make reviews about certain destinations and who knows, you could find the right place to have your romantic vacation. I go through http://e-marginalia.com for vacation tips, try giving it a check
