Datingish Readers: Share Your Words of Wisdom!!
Are there certain words or phrases that your mind returns to in different situations? Words or phrases that serve as reminders, make you think, motivate you, or get you through a tough day?
The March issue of Glamour magazine contains an article called “50 Love Rules Every Woman Should Live By.” It’s filled with quotes from movies, songs, celebrities, and Glamour readers about love, sex, and dating.
Since our Datingish readers always have great advice to share on these topics, I was wondering if you have any of your own universal (love, sex, and dating) rules to live by? They don’t have to be original—it could be a quote you’ve always loved.
A few of my favorites are:
-“Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened.”
-“You never realize what you have until it’s gone.”
-“Don’t ever make someone a priority when they only make you an option.”
And my own:
“In the capitalist, materialistic society we live in, most things worth having cost money. Love, stripped of all the birthday gifts and expensive dinners, is 100% free, and ironically, it’s the best thing you could ever have.”

love is not at all what you expect it to be, but somehow its much better then you ever imagined. Its about seeing that person, with all of their flaws and choosing to love them anyway. and its beautiful.
Not mines, but one of my faves...

The one quote I usually always say is "things could be worse" and it helps more than anything and covers all aspects of life, in my eyes.

"Don't make someone your everything, because once they're gone, you have nothing." I lived this. Took me three years to fully heal. Basically, don't invest all of your being into someone else. You want to be able to survive on your own.
"It will get better." This helps for a bit of perspective. I tell my friends this all the time. You have to think back to the last time something horrible happened and know that it's not happening now and now you're ok. So it will get better. It always does.

Love at first sight is possible, but it pays to take a second look.

People say "Love hurts... Love stinks" but that's not true. Rejection hurts... loneliness hurts. Love is the only thing in this world that can heal your pain, and give you happiness.
I read this once... I think it's so true. I don't remember the exact words hehe, but it goes a little something like that.
