  • What I Love About Him

I have always loathed Valentine's Day. After wasting two and a half years of my life working at a Hallmark store I can reassure you that most holidays I roll my eyes at. For my daughter's sake I do try and make a little hoo-rah out of everything because I want that experience for her. However, for Valentine's this year I think we should all think of the one we love the most and why we love them not what we materialistic things we want from them.

My husband and I are writing each other a little something nice for one another and spending the day at the beach with our daughter eating those little heart candies. That to me is a perfect day. I love my husband, I love the way he makes me laugh and gives me space when I start to have anxiety. How he lets me watch that one movie I have been dying to see on one of our rare date nights, or gobbles up dinner even when I know I didn't cook it right. Sometimes you get so caught up being in a relationship you forget to stop and appreciate every little thing.

What do you love about your SO or if you are in the single department, what do you love about your mom, dog, xbox etc? What do you want to do for Valentines Day, if anything at all?

I am studying for V-day. Midterm's coming up.

I probably spend it sad after all I was rejected by a girl to get to know her better.

Your entry is so sweet. Valentine's Day falls on Chinese New Year so I would be spending tons of time with family and gobbling up my chocolate.

Going on a dinner cruise. Dressing up and playing grownup for a couple hours.

V-Day was invented by the flower companies, but it's still a nice time of the year to remind your SO that you love them. If you don't have a SO, it's a depressing reminder to get one.

Well, it's actually the first Valentine's Day my man and I have celebrated ever in our entire lives (last year I was on a plane on V Day so we didn't get to celebrate on the day and before we met each other, we were total scrooges raining on everyone else's parade about V Day).  We moved forward yet another chapter in our relationship and have marked V Day 2010 as a new sort of anniversary for it (sickening irony, I know).

My boyfriend and I aren't seeing each other on valentines day because of distance, but he is going to call me tonight and we are going to have one of our all night talks. I also wrote him something that I will read to him tonight. We will see each other next weekend though, so we will make up for the missed day then :)

What do I love about my SO? He is amazing in so many ways, he always makes me laugh, i am constantly giggling when I am around him. He is always there when I need someone to have a serious talk to, he will just sit there and listen for hours and if I ask him for input he always gives me the best advice. When we are out with friends or in a public place with people around, he always makes me feel as though I am the only person around, he holds my hand and pulls me as close as he can to him, and always gives me these loving, reassuring eyes. It makes me feel special inside :)

I don't celebrate Valentine's Day, even when I'm with someone. It makes me kind of nervous. :p

But, I really like your suggestion about how to celebrate Valentine's Day, that's really sweet. :)

You're right. I got winded up with the whole "Valentine's day" and forgot to appreciate.

It's good to celebrate Valentine's Day - not for the sake of corporate nonsense but just for the sake of celebrating your love. What you and your husband did was beautiful.

And your baby is super adorable too :)
