Last Minute Valentines!
For everyone who's a last minute giver, or you still don't know what to get look no further! If you're like me you just want to get something that says "I love you" or "I care about you" without breaking the bank. I have a few ideas for everyone who can't spend more then $20.
For her: Cell phone cover. A giftcard and choclates, a gift basket full of small cheesy stuff she'll love. I prefer giving gift bags, full of cheap stuff that really adds up. Try Walmart, a magazine, candy, bath salt/fizz, yummy smelling lotion, a little teddy bear, and a picture of you two.
Maybe a dvd she loves, or wants to see. Is she a reader? Ask her who her favorite author is and get her a book. Just little things that let her know you were thinking of her. You can get everything at Walmart and dollar tree. Don't give her makeup unless you know exactly what she would use, or else she'll never use it. What's her favorite color? Give her nail polish! For my mom (who is the hardest to shop for) I got her things like hair barrette, a stuffed animal, a note pad in her favorite color, and a hand held alarm system since she works at night and needs one.
Make her her favorite meal, and give her bath fizz and a magazine to go relax! If she's artsy/craftsy, go to Micheal's and get a bunch of stuff out of the sale section to make her scrapbook awesome. Get her some new paints. She loves to work out? Get her a fitness DVD, or a trial gym membership for both of you! If you try, you can find anything for any girl at Walmart or Dollar Tree. Music, dvds, lotions, hair color(if you know what color she uses), flowers, balloons! You can even go to Bath and Body Works and get sale stuff, like aroma therapy spray! Whats her favorite store? Give her a gift card.
For him: Dvds, shirts, cheesy heart boxers, his favorite candy, magazine, cologne, body wash, gift card! I did a gift bag (For under 20$!!) with a new iPod cover (in his favorite color...got it on ebay), Family Guy dvd, axe body wash +shampoo, heart shaped Reeses, a green teddy bear (his fav. color!) and these "love" scratchoffs (from dollar tree) where the prizes are things like hugs, a picnic, dinner; those necco conversation hearts; You can do the same, but personalize it to your guy! Write him a love letter, stick it in the card, and give him a dvd. Bake him something or if hes a baker, you can go to walmart and get valentines day kits for cookies brownies and pink pancakes. Surprise him with breakfast, and get some body oil and give him a massage. Make a card. Make a picture frame, and frame a picture of you too. If he loves music, get him a cd, or an itunes gift card. Are his headphones broken? Get him some new ones!
In short, you can get anything for anyone at Walmart or dollar tree for cheap. Just make sure it's personalized. You don't have to get him anything related to valentines day, as long as it's something he'll like. You don't have to get her a new iPod, or an expensive necklace, just show her that you love her and you know what she likes. Valentines day is for love, not for gifts. Giving a gift is just for fun.
For a date, you don't need to go all out. Just have lunch in your back yard, go to an earlier showing of a movie (it's cheaper the earlier you go), have a picnic. If she adventures, go to your local national park, take a long walk and end it with a picknic. Go to the local pool and go swimming, and eat out. You don't have to spend 30$ to show someone your thinking about them!
Hope I helped! Tell me what you're getting your SO, or what your ideas are!

I think this is a great post. My boyfriend has a favorite candle that he burns in his apartment. He LOVES it, but it burnt out two weeks ago. For $25 at Yankee candle I replaced it. Kinda pricey for a candle, but he'll use it every day and will definitely appreciate it. As long as its personal, they'll like it.
But it doesn't have to be expensive at all. He's is also a huge Nascar fan. So my biggest V-Day present to him is that instead of going out and making a big deal about the holiday, we're going to stay in, make dinner together, curl up on the couch and watch the Daytona 500 together. Oh, and exchange massages of course in the meanwhile. :) [hey - it's a long race!]
I wrote this post like a week ago! It took forever to get posted, haha.
@beachblondie711@xanga - Awh, have fun! As I said in my post, I got my guy his favorite season on dvd, so we're doing the same thing, dinner & a movie at hommee C: Happy almost V-dayyy!
FOR HIM: A blowjob, a beer, and a sandwich. He doesn't want the green teddy bear.
I continued my gift from Christmas. I made 30 little envelopes out of Spiderman paper (because the hubby is a total geek) and put notes/quotes/lyrics, anything that reminds me of him, really, and refilled the geektastic jar I used in December. He'll open one a day, just like he did in a couple months ago.
@softaswater@xanga - RIGHT? I live in Florida and it's been 50 or lower!
@swipedebitcardthruasscheeks@xanga - thats exactly what my boyfriend would so want. hahaha but not for valentines day. he'd feel bad. maybe for his birthday
Forget the flowers (that will die in a matter of days), toys (what are we kids) and candy (too much sugar)! Get a gift card!!! They sell them everywhere and who doesn't like spending someone else's money?!!?!?
@softaswater@xanga - I'm a FL native, and we definitely have been swimming in February before. :) But going to the beach in February, regardless of the weather, is fun. :)
To the OP - these are all great ideas! :)
people make way too big of a deal out of valentine's day, seriously. guys don't care about all this crap like gift baskets and teddy bears and girls areusually disappointed because they get the same thing as every other girl in america which involves no thought whatsoever (chocolate, roses, stuffed animal). this day has no meaning at all anymore.
@swipedebitcardthruasscheeks@xanga - aaahhhaaaaa, i wish i could rec this comment.
it is a good post, thanks for your good ideas

This is a good post.
For my fiance, I got him a photo cube that has a poem on the top and it's personalized with our names on it. I found this box of candy from the 50's, 60's, 70's and 80's so I got him that too and a bag of Lindt truffles cause he really likes them (and I figure even though I got him candy, you still have to have some chocolate!) and a card.
Sorry, but I HATE the sort of things mentioned in this blog.
A DVD...ok, but please NEVER buy me anything scented...I'm really scent sensitive, and unless you absolutely know what scent from which company a person loves, this is really risky.
I do NOT want a bunch of stupid little junk from Wal Mart and dollar tree...I'd rather have nothing, I am not kidding about this. Just give me a card, meet me for breakfast, or leave a silly message on my voice mail. I hate more junk in the house that I won't use but feel bad throwing out.
Most men I know want food or fun for Valentines day...take them to a movie, give them a Hardee's gift card, cookies, or some of their favorite beer or a bottle of liquor. Tickets to a concert or the latest season of their favorite current or past TV show. Boxers are fine, so is a cheesy card...if it goes along with something they can eat, drink or look forward to.
I've outgrown teddy bears, but I will never outgrow flowers and chocolate no matter how cliche'...just like I won't outgrow oxygen, being treated respectfully and the thrill that goes through me when he's watching his favorite show, but leans over gives my thigh a squeeze and smiles at me because he is glad I'm next to him...or stretches out and puts his head on my lap.
