  • Scandalish: A Different Kind of Home Video

Here are instructions on how to comment anonymously if you need them.

Home-made sex tapes. I feel like no one really talks about them, but they're out there. Just ask the poor kid who happened upon what they thought was their high school graduation tape only to see their own mother in the reverse cowgirl position. And how many celebrities have made their own sex tape only to have it leaked onto the internet. Here's a word to the wise: don't pay a single cent for Kim Kardashian's, unless you're interested in watching her apply makeup for 30 minutes.

What I want to know is, how many of you have made a sex tape with your SO? And how did the topic even come up?

"Hey hunny, I think it'd be sexy if I set up a video camera this time. Afterward, we can pop some kettle corn and watch it together, maybe take some notes, and then do a second take, just to get things perfect."

Personally, I think I'd suffer from performance anxiety and could probably benefit from a few gin and tonics before making my on-camera debut.

What about you? Have you ever made a sex tape? Would you?

    okay, this can be avoided.

any person with a family who stores their sex tapes with the rest of the family videos or in a box full of "precious memories" is a moron. seriously, you don't think that's bound to be gotten into?

sorry to go off topic. no, i do not have a sex tape.

@soyeahthatswhathappened@xanga - It's actually pretty easy after, say, 10 years, of things getting moved and switched around and shuffled, for an accident like that to happen. My parents got divorced, and their main concern at the time wasn't on which tapes were innocent and which ones weren't, especially if they're disguised as Christmas morning videos...

  • Cest_LaxVie@xanga

I haven't made one, but I did have a friend [morel like an acquaintance] who did, and since then all our guy friends are trying to get it from the guy who also participated, and luckily the guy is nice enough [or maybe he just knows the tape sucks?] to not give it out like fliers.

I personally won't judge someone who makes a tape, like if they've been together long enough and trust each other not to show it to someone else, and it can spice up their relationship, why not? I definitely would need some liquid courage as well. But as long as I'd know that my SO won't show it to people, I guess I'd be okay with it.

@SeeBeeWrite@xanga - very true. Kids are curious by nature and my nephew finds all kinds of stuff around my parents house that no one has seen in ages.

To answer the post's question: Yes, I've been asked before. No, haven't done it yet. I know I'm not a celeb or rich enough for it to be leaked but still, I wouldn't want my future kids to stumble upon it. Which is why I advised my friend to hold that thought when her BF asked her...

Saying 'no' in 3 easy steps:

    1. Your video will end up on the computer, even if only for editing.

    2. Your computer is connected to the internet.

    3. Once it's on the internet, it will still be there 10,000 years from now, hidden on a server in Nairobi or Amsterdam.

Do yourself a favor, don't do it.

I don't think I could ever make a sex tape, mostly because I'd be super paranoid the whole time that a) someone would, for whatever reason, bust in in the middle of it and b) be so worried about how I look that I couldn't enjoy myself.

I don't think there's anything wrong with making them, so long as both people are mature enough to realize that it's private and not something to be thrown around as a "look what I can do!" or blackmail material in the event of a break-up.  And as long as they're both legal adults...no child pr0n, kthxbai.

I just started filming on my digital camera with my last girlfriend. She didn't object. Then we split up and I thought about what I should do with it. In the end I pressed delete - it didn't do anything for me. These leaks always make me suspicious, to be honest.

yeah, I have.  My husband wants to sometimes, and we usually just delete them afterwards.  There may be some still on our camera, but we'd never make them into dvds or anything.

  • disorderedpersonality@xanga

Photos, yes. Videos, no. And who would actually use a tape anymore?

My boyfriend and I made one. Someone (we are not sure who was) stole it from his computer and then blackmailed him the if my bf didn't have sex with him he will upload it to every website he could. He tried to give him some money but all the guy wanted was sex. To make the story short, the day I graduated from college was the day he chose to uploaded it. Since we are from a small town everyone found out. Our lifes were a hell for two years, I started cutting, developed an eating disorder until I went to a therapist.
Its just until now that I can talk about it and its still a difficult topic for us. My bf is starting therapy bc he blames himself.
My advice to everyone is to not do it or to delete it soon.

  • superGchik@xanga

no i've never made one because i would never want it to leak out if the relationship didn't work out because if it did and someone from my work place saw it, i would so lose my job.

  • WhenHateIsTheOnlyOption@xanga

Nope, because they almost always are used for vengeance.

  • bethb031409@xanga

Nope, not going to happen, what happens in the bedroom stays in the bedroom...not making any videos any time soon with my husband.

  • Nope_Ive_Never@xanga

First off I really don't think I would want to watch myself having sex and second, it could easiyl get into the wrong hands.

  • TheCaffeinatedKnitter@xanga

I would do it for someone I trust... like my husband.

Besides, we also regularly spend months apart.... so if he wants to watch me instead of a porn star, then hey, why not?
  • kawasaki_saiyan@xanga

no thanks and we'll just leave it at that.

  • love_tifferz@xanga

i haven't made one. but i'm not opposed. im married so there's no way he would let anyone see it. if we ever make one we will probably delete it shortly after...

  • MsKittyCatty@xanga

No, haven't made one. I think it'd be just a tad weird to watch us doing it. I mean, everyone must think it'd look sexy on tape, but I doubt it would be. It probably won't look pretty unless you're a paid actor. No thanks.

  • xjadersx@xanga

No one that I've dated has wanted to do this. I don't know if I would or not, in case someone accidentally saw it. That would embarrass me a bit, and make things awkward.

  • bella@xanga

How odd me and my SO just made some the other day! And I say, "some". I started throwing the idea out there until my boyfriend realized that I was serious...then he agreed enthusiastically. I think he likes when I throw a few raunchy ideas out there.

We've been together a year and a half but I used my camera..just for my sake of mind that some of his guy friends wont borrow his and discover them.

I think i'm a sex-video maniac ha :p making (posing) and watching them is a HUGE turn on for me..we get into it pretty good and its really spiced up our love life.. I give the idea two thumbs up!

  • mrs_manson999@xanga

...I guess if you're both comfortable with it, it's okay.

  • Lordv16@xanga

Yeah I've made a couple. One dvd :P

How did I get into it? Well I just started documenting our regular occurrences. Our days out around the city or at the beach...it was inevitable the camera would end up in the bedroom.

I personally love it, but it's one of those things where you have to trust the other person. Don't want one of those laying around after a bad break up...who knows where it ends up.

The tapes I've made though...all under lock and key. No one should ever have a chance to "stumble" over something like that.

  • myreality79@xanga

I would only make a video if in a very committed relationship.  I took plenty of sex pics with my ex.  Deleted them some time after we broke up.  Was only partially tempted to post them online!! ha (I didn't post them)

Now that I think about it though, there is probably video of us both nude dancing on a piano in Jamaica.  I don't have copies of it, but I know people were recording, so hopefully that hasn't already made the net!!

I'm always kind of shocked when people who haven't been together very long make videos of themselves - if you do that, you better be at peace with having it posted online cause there's a good chance it's going to happen.

  • skinnylittlelies@xanga

I wouldn't mind doing it, granted my relationship was mature and everything.

I would just be way too paranoid that it would fall into the wrong hands.
