A single white rose (or favorite flower here) or perhaps a card or hmmm an edible bouqet. Chocolate covered strawberrys? I don't know go out on a picnic! LOL

@adriigon@xanga - Something simple - like a homemade card or something. Something thoughtful but not too over - the - top. 

I think it's the other way around. When you're in a serious relationship for a year or over, you get nervous about what to buy that's really special.
Valentines day for new relationships always includes candy, cards, flowers, ya know.
I think it's easier when you're new.

@adriigon@xanga -  lol get him one of those cheesy heart shaped boxes with the sayings on it. My fave one ever was a bear eating berriesthat said "you're berry special" lol xD but tbh, he won't care what you get him, he's probs stressing over the samething lol.

I would suggest to use your feelings, or use your instincts. For me I'd rather go out and eat outside and talk with my love.
I don't like giving flowers or anything, a sweet talk is better than a rose.

If it's new like that  I think a card or a single rose or a little stuffed animal would be a nice gesture & not over the top .

Gifts for guys, get them a movie they liked on DVD (could be as cheap as $10 or as much as $30).  If they like gaming get them a 3 month xbox live subscription ($20) or a month of WoW ($15).  Or whatever game they're playing!  If they like sports spring for a year's subscription of ESPN magazine for $26.

They'll be touched that you didn't give them some standard shit, you'll stand out AND for not any more money than a dinner for two at Applebee's would cost you!

I believe a small, pretty bouquet of flowers is a sure-win thing for new Valentine's Day relationships. :) Be SURE to include a little card, even if it's nothing more than one of the one's you can get in the boxed sets. Just be sure to write that you care about them and sign your name or nickname the person uses for you. :)
