  • Datingish Book Club: Committed

Well, perhaps not a book club, we aren't Oprah. But we can still throw out a recommendation every now and again, right?

There was a time not too long ago when everywhere I turned I saw a young woman holding a copy of Elizabeth Gilbert's memoir, Eat, Pray, Love. In it, Gilbert travels the world and documents her experiences in her quest for self-fulfillment. In my opinion, Eat, Pray, Love  is a handbook for .... well, for life, really. If you haven't read it, I suggest you pick up a copy today. You won't regret it.

Now, Gilbert has come out with her second memoir, Committed: A Skeptic Makes Peace with Marriage. In this book, Gilbert is set to be married and examines the concept of marriage in a time when neither society nor security demands it.

You can find a complete review of the book here.

For any person who has ever teetered on the edge of understanding marriage, I think this book may be a great read, as well as a great resource.

Did you read Eat, Pray, Love? Will you read Committed?
