  • Giving on Your Day

TOMS Shoes has come out with a wedding line. The idea I think is brilliant and super symbolic, I think.

For those who don't know what Toms shoes are, this is a short video on their mission:

*IF YOU DON'T KNOW ABOUT THIS COMPANY, WATCH THE ENTIRE VIDEO! It's amazing how we take advantage of something like a pair of shoes and don't know how much of an impact they really have when you're without.

Anyways, now that you know what TOMS Shoes does and how amazing of a company they are, they now created a line of wedding shoes. If you purchase a pair for everyone in your wedding party, they will knock off around 30% of your purchase. More over, every pair also give someone without a pair and they're shoes you can wear over and over again.

If you haven't put on a pair of TOMS, you'd be surprised how ridiculously comfortable they are. They have actually very good arch support and they just feel like house slippers, real light on your feet. They come in simple to silly fabric designs.

I personally think the idea of the first thing you do as a married couple is give back to those in need is very symbolic and beautiful. I think they look adorable. They look like you're wearing little slippers. And I don't see much of a difference between this and people who wear ballet shoes except these have more meaning. I know for sure that when I get married in a few years I am having my wedding party wear TOMS. I'm going to wear the white glitter pair along with my bridesmaids. Not sure if I'll go with black or ash for my Parker and the boys yet.

So my question is, how important are aesthetics to you? How important is having "cute" shoes (if you don't think TOMS are cute anyways, even though I do) on your wedding day? Is it more important than giving a pair to a child without?
