What Should I Give My Boyfriend?
Q. What is a good gift to get your boyfriend for Christmas? I mean he isn't the sporty or the preppy type. He is just a regular guy. I was going to get him pajamas or a hat he wanted, but I wanted to get him something special and not something lame because this is our first Christmas together and I want to remember this forever. And he is very choosy and I rather get him a gift card but then that wouldn't be much thought to it. Any suggestions?
A. I think any one of those things you suggested would make a good gift. But you're right, they all lack a personal touch. This is easy to remedy with a heartfelt letter/card along with your gift. You can also personalize the gift through an engraving--perhaps on a nice watch. You can also get the personalized element by hand-making some of the gifts--you can make cookies (or any baked goods), a coupon book, mixtapes, etc. Remember, the gift doesn't really count--it's the thought behind it.
