  • I'm a Relationship Adrenaline Junky

I'm a relationship adrenaline junky.  I love the chase, the pursuit, the game, even when I get the girl I like to keep up the surprises.

A month ago my apartmentmate decided against dating a very attractive girl because she was content with staying in and watching tv every night, there was no excitement, no adventure.  I would have made the same decision, and I'm beginning to wonder just how much adventure or seduction it takes to keep me interested.  Maybe I've done too much, and I'm not talking about sex.  Don't get me wrong, I love to go out on the town for a good date, or to stay in and watch a movie and cuddle with my girl, but if those are the only things we ever do I am going to lose interest.

I've had a first kiss at the beach at sunset.  I've had a first kiss after learning to salsa in the waves and making the girl chase me down for it - into the outside beach shower.  I've been backstage and on the tour bus with an ex and my favorite band after a huge concert with thousands of screaming fans.  I've been to Niagra Falls with a girl.  We walked the shores of the great lakes.  I've explored abandoned houses with girls.  I've made out and fooled around in an abandoned rich private boarding school ended in the wall collapsing in on us.  I've watched the sun rise over the ocean with a girl.  Some of these things were my ideas, some came from the two girls I previously dated.

I really like the girl that I'm dating, she has a great personality and she's the sweetest, most caring girl you'd ever meet.  She's never been very adventurous herself.  She hasn't been to the mountains in years (we live 2 hours away), she's never been camping, she's never snuck out after dark, never hidden anything from her parents, she doesn't go to parties, and she's only been out of the state once.  Fortunately she is open to new ideas, new places, and new experiences.  Unfortunately I seem to have run out of ideas.  I want to have new, amazing, unique dates, adventures, and experiences with my girlfriend.  Got any ideas?

What are some of your most adventurous and or memorable experiences with your significant other?

Can't you do the Adrenaline Junkie thing without the relationship? Maybe go find your own thing to do until your worn the hell out, then come home to your girl? lol. I mean I don't know. I've never known a man that had hardcore ADHD and had to constantly be doing something different, in different parts of the country. The most insane thing I've ever done was have sex by a pond. Woo-hoo. Heh.

ever gone hot air ballooning in the spring? its quite expensive but well worth it, but you'd probably get bored after a while cause all you'll see is your SO and the tour guide and well.. the scenes. its amazing though.

why not try something goofy? go to lunch instead of dinner, this is my preference because dinner has now seem to be overrated for me now.

go to the park, take pictures. choose a theme and act on it.
why not go on a vacation while you're at it? do you actually play around with this girl? make her laugh and tease her with kisses and bites?

how daring haha. you've o_o made some darn good memories.

  • methodElevated@xanga

it doesn't even have to be romantic crazy thing to keep things interesting

    - my ex had me jump off train tracks into a river
    - explore the forests near the delware to find a rope swing into the river
    - hours of aimless driving searching for christmas lights (and gettings lost and trying to get back! finding food and gas are all such memorable experiences)
    - concerts, festivals, or even lame carnivales always give themselves to excitement if you're open to people and make conversation with people you encounter, you never know where the night will take you

you're young! the world is your playground. anything can be fun - alley ways and parks to sneaking into professional buildings for a thrill. don't forget that!

One of my most memorable experiences was the roof of a 20-story hotel in the city, another was dodging police searchlights in a park after closing hours. Feel free to try either.

Also, kudos to datingish for finding the hottest photo ever.

My boyfriend took me to California for a music festival.  We enjoy that kinda of scene, because we're both hippies.  Does your girlfriend like concerts? music festivals? Hiking? jogging? hemping? hooping? tye-dyeing? reading cosmo with you? trips on acid together? smoke pot? snowboard? ski? snowtube? paint?? draw? do word searches? sew clothes? have sex?? Snowboarding is always fun to do together, especially in the winter time.

I mean, just think of somethings you like, and ask her if she's interested.

I don't know if any of those will hell, hope they do :) Good luck, and remember to just keep on lovin' her! :) :)

I wish I had amazing adventures like this!

I've done the sunset and beach thing.

What I REALLY want is to go hiking and have a picnic in a meadow ;D buuut it's winter and everything is ugly here. :[ Or to go horseback riding and have a picnic on the beach. {I have a thing for picnics & horses] Or hot hair ballooning, camping, Disneyland, skinny dipping, Bike party, haunted areas, star gazing, lizard hunting, cooking classes, dance classes, grass sledding, snowboarding, zoo, concerts, carnivals, I could go on and on.

I think of a lot of random fun things to do. We don't always do them thanks to weather, money, and work, but as soon as my SO gets back we're gonna go on lots of adventures!

Hmm.. You're like Jack Dawson and she's like Rose Dewitt Something.

I don't know why I want to do this so badly... but here's the idea..

Get in a mall and douse yourselves with perfume and cologne til the point your noses hurt to the extreme. Then try on opposite sex clothes. Then purchase them. Wear them. Go iceskating in them. Quite embarrassingly daring, it's probably a hard decision to make. But then again, live life a little.

  • DistantStarlight@xanga

Take her to the mountains! Take her hiking or whatever you like to do! Look up random sights to see out of state and take her on a couple of trips (doesn't even have to be overnight). You can enrich her life so much!

I was not the adventurous type myself until I dated this one guy who got me to try all kinds of new, adventurous things like rappelling, caving, and all kinds of other fun, active outdoor stuff. Now I'm comfortable with doing and trying a lot more. That guy has been long out of my life, but the taste for adventure he left me with remains.

My dad and I have taken up rock climbing, and I brought my boyfriend along on one of the bouldering free-climbs (no ropes makes it more dangerous).  If I didn't know that my dad likes Adam, I'd swear he's trying to get rid of him.  Fortunately, there were no falls over the edge.  Nothing says "I love you" like having to trust each other completely to not drop 100' very suddenly...

  • HollowTendencies@xanga

stay in bed all day.. that's probably something you haven't done

  • P0RCELA1N_D0LL@xanga

what about crashland on a deserted island and survive, then try to escape from mysterious voodoo hunters I got that idea from the Lost tv show. it sounds very adventurous and original

  • JennyGee@xanga

i'm the same way!!  staying in is ok, but i like to be on the go!  i've watched the sun rise in someone's eyes, and i've performed with a few of my exes, and that is super exhilarating, too.  maybe take a class together?  just keep open to randoms- haha the last date i was on we went out to dinner, made Zoo Tycoon into a drinking game, went out to the clubs, then watched  movie at home. date before that we went to dinner, went salsa dancing and then made jell-o cuz we wanted to see what happens to it when it freezes.  everything can be an adventure with an adventurous spirit

  • miss_misery_mia@xanga

You're crazy man, but that's good. Girls like adventure too, I can't stand dating someone who can't get out of their comfort zone.

  • cowsgomoo901@xanga

My boyfriend took me mountain biking :P

I wasn't the best at it, but I had a lot of fun!
  • FREETOLOSE@xanga

learn scuba diving together, then go on a dive!
its completely amazing and adventurous, completely different experience then anything on land :) :) in my opinion, it's the BEST.

  • tmchica@xanga

    This post sounds super braggy.

  • elizabethmia_scenoemo@xanga

haha. I'm with the other girls. Wanna date me?

The queen mary, hiking by a riverside, horseback riding, I say snow shoeing. Weird but amazing and memorable.
