  • The Perfect Movie Moment Kiss

    Girls, have you ever daydreamt about that perfect first kiss with that perfect prince charming? It could take place at a school dance, in the middle of an empty street, under the mistletoe or at a New Year’s party. Most girls always try to picture their first kiss only keeping beautiful, passionate and indescribable thoughts in their minds. But the one idea every girl tries to keep in mind is perfection.

    I remember most of my time spent in middle school was daydreaming about my prince charming sweeping me off my feet. And yes, an absolute perfect first kiss was involved.

    In high school, I got that perfect kiss.

    … Well, sort of.

    It was the Senior Prom and I got asked by a very sweet and intelligent guy who shortly afterwards, became my boyfriend. I was only 14 years old and one of the very few freshmen who attended the Senior Prom.

    I spent the night in my boyfriend’s arms thinking about how perfect everything was. We were dressed nicely, I was wearing my absolute favorite color and we were walking around in a yacht cruising along the waters of San Francisco. While we stood at the railing at the side of the yacht, my boyfriend held me and we starred at the waters for who knows how long. That’s when I thought, a perfect kiss would definitely be the cherry on top. I kept thinking about when the opportune moment would come. But being distracted by the gorgeous surroundings, including my boyfriend’s smile, I still kept in mind about how perfect everything already was.

    Soon enough, “End of the Road” by Boys II Men, the last slow song of the night, was being played. As my boyfriend and I were swaying along with the music, I thanked him for making the night a night to remember. That’s when we starred deep into each other’s eyes and slowly moved in towards each other to finally share our first kiss.

    This was it! The passion, the sparks, the millions of imaginary fireworks…

    …were not there. It was actually kind of… awkward.

    Can you believe it?! My fairytale kiss turned out to be a somewhat uncomfortable situation. I was on a yacht! I was in a $300 dress! The city lights of San Francisco were moving along in the corner of my eye! We were dancing closely to a slow song just like the movies! Why did it not feel… perfect? Maybe it was because I had no idea what I was doing or because I expected way too much from the already perfect night.

    All I know is although the story sounds like a movie moment, it wasn’t. As a matter of fact, every single first kiss I had with a new guy came out to be an awkward catastrophe.

    I like to keep in mind that maybe I haven’t found that special someone yet to share a kiss where there will be passion, sparks and plenty of imaginary fireworks. And I know that will happen someday. Who knows, maybe it’ll be that same boyfriend who noticed me out of every girl in the school and asked me to his prom.

    Girls/guys, have you ever had that perfect first kiss, or was it a complete disaster? If you’ve never been kissed, what are you expecting and what will make your first kiss perfect?

    somehow, i was fortunate enough to have the perfect movie moment first kiss. which is really bizarre considering my luck these days!

    My first kiss was when I was sixteen. I was at a park, sitting underneath a tree. The limbs boughed down and there were pink flowers fluttering everywhere. A perfect sunny, summer day.


    But. The guy just asked if I'd ever been kissed... and I said no. He asked what I'd do if he decided to be my first kiss. I was really shy and had never really had a boyfriend or been kissed or anything so I just kind of shrugged. He moved in to kiss me and a firetruck honked it's horn and drove by. He was embarrassed for anyone to see him so he stopped while it went by.


    Definitely ruined.

    I'd never imagined the perfect movie moment kiss kind of thing. My first kiss led to the stupidest thing I've ever done, so it definitely was not perfect. Oh well, I don't mind, really. I'm not perfect, can't imagine my life would be any different.

    I have never had that perfect first kiss.... or one of those "WHAM SHAPOW MOVIES!" perfect kiss either.
    I mean yea, I've kissed great kissers and made out with the best.
    But nothing that felt extraordinarily special or made me feel special.
    However, I still hold out hope. :)

    I'm 18 and I've never been kissed, and I no longer care if it's going to be perfect or not.  As long as it's with the right guy.

    I've honestly never fantasized about a perfect movie kiss, though my first boyfriend and I had a make-out session in the rain.  That was really fun.

    Sitting at the top of a mountain at sunset, after our first "I love you"...it was definitely perfect for us, though walking back down the mountain in the dark (and in the aftermath of that first kiss, read: jelly legs) wasn't such a treat.  We got stuck walking through pricker bushes.  Also, it was ten months (and four days) after we had started dating.  But, perfect for us.

    My first kiss was a disaster; I try very hard to repress the memory.

    I literally did not want to date after, because it was that bad.

    The guy was literally sucking my damn face off.
    It was slobbery, vacuum-y and just plain GROSS!

    Thankfully, I've since had better kisses, but I was scarred for life.

    Ha ha ha. Seriously. I needed therapy for that experience.
    It was probably post traumatic stress disorder.

    My first kiss was a disaster. I had no idea what I was doing and the guy that I was with didn't make the situation comfortable either...so it was awkward. My most recent kiss was perfect. I think it was the best one by far. Maybe practice makes perfect?

    i had kind of a crappy first kiss, he like raped my face with his tongue. i thought i was a bad kisser, and that i didnt like kissing. and i felt kinda... dirty...


    a few months after that relationship, i had a random hookup. this was basically just my learning experience - i felt like i knew how to kiss now, and he said i was a good kisser, so that was nice. that never led to anything
    my REAL first kiss.. the one i count, was my current bf... we each crushed on each other since we became friends 5 years earlier. so THAT was packed with real magic :)

    @dlmcniel@xanga - I've kissed in the rain once only because I told my bf that I wanted to. Lol. And because it was purposely played out, it was uncomfortable because I hate being soaked in rain. Haha, I need to learn to stop fantasizing about perfect moments.


    @Katja88@xanga - That sounds really cute! :) (the beginning at least, lol) but it's cool how people will define perfection differently. Like, something can be a disaster to one person but a magical moment to another.


    @Cosmar@xanga - @Insomnia_Pickles_XtraTomato@xanga - I hate those slobbery face suckers. Sometimes I wonder what they think they're doing while it's happening. Do they not realize they're not really kissing, but just making a gross mess?? Haha.


    And I always hear stories about how friends admire each other for so long and that first kiss is like, crazy passionate. You're lucky to have experienced that :)


    @NANSOO@xanga - I believe that too. Because even though I never really experienced a good first kiss, it DOES get better than the one before!

    I had THE perfect kiss with my current boyfriend. (Note: he was not my first kiss, but the FIRST time that we kissed was PERFECT. Does that make sense?) I didn't know perfection until I kissed him! While there wasn't any sparks, fireworks, or any other kind of explosions....there was just this burning passion that I've never felt before. It was so overpowering. I don't know how else to describe it. From then on, I knew that there was something special here... something that made me think twice. And I certainly did. Now we're together :) happily as ever! Forever..hopefully!

    I mean, all of the other kisses that I've had, it was always kinda -- meh? Nothing that made me go WOW. 

    They say that a girl knows with the first kiss.
    Oh, and as for my ACTUAL first kiss--

    Awkward. As. Hell.I was so turned off by kissing that I swore that I would never do it again.

    Aw, I'm sorry your "perfect kiss" scenarios didn't turn out as you wanted, but maybe it'll build up expectations and your perfect kiss will be that much better =).

    I'm just waiting for my "perfect kiss."  Of course I have fairytale daydreams, but with the right person, I'm sure everything will feel just right, despite the location or time.

    It's cool how you aren't like some people I know who obsess over TRYING to get kissed instead of waiting for the right guy, or moment. I hope your first kiss will become an interesting story to tell people! :)

    I remember trying to take in my first kiss, knowing it would never happen again. I kept telling myself this is it, remember this, this is your first kiss that you've saved until you were (gasp) 14. I was distracted by my attempt to not let my braces interfere. Ahh, the memories..


    Luckily the memories got better.

    I already told you about my first minty kiss...bleh heh.  However with my last gf she wouldn't let me kiss her for the first 9 months we were together...that was torture but after 9 months the kiss was nice...yeah nice is an appropriate word for it heh.

    sadly, ive never been kissed:( and i always daydream about my first kiss too! :P i wanted to have my first kiss at the beach during sunset. it just seems really romantic.. lol but i doubt thatd ever happen.

    My first kiss ever was awkward and horrible. It wasn't spontaneous or anything romantic. >_>; The only time I had a perfect spontaneous romantic first kiss with a boy was with the guy I'm dating now.
