Do You Believe in Signs?
You're driving in the car. You need some tunes, so you turn on the radio. All of the sudden, your ex boyfriend's favorite song comes on. "Ugh..." you think. You change the station.
Then, you see a car just like his drive past. "What the hell? That's strange..." You keep driving. You look down at the clock quickly on your dashboard. You are running late. It's 5:19, your ex's birthday. "Hmmmm.... Is the universe trying to tell me something?"Has anyone ever experienced this? I do. All the time. Is the universe giving you a sign, or are you just subconsciously thinking about that person too much? Maybe a little bit of both? What kinds of "signs" have you experienced?

I do not believe in signs, just uninvited irritations.
I don't think the world is telling you anything except that you know your ex pretty well. You know his favorite song, you recognize his car easily when something like it drives past you, and you paid enough attention that you know his birthday. It isn't saying "I'm here I'm here let's be back together." Nope. If the universe were telling you that, you'd see the guy at your doorstep and trying to get you guys back together.
:)
I've experienced the "signs" you've mentioned. I think it's just a matter of interpretation.
I take EVERYTHING as a sign. If theres 2 near misses with car crashes i dont ride around for the rest of that day because to me that means the next one is going to be an actual crash. I mean if you believe in anything it makes it real.
You're just thinking about it too much.
I do love the car in the picture though. Reminds me of my great-grandmothers car.
I had a boyfriend named Mike, We lost communication during our "relationship" and I got tired of him. Anyway, many guys I tried to meet were named Mike.
haha happens all the time. our brain plays tricks on us. i constantly see 143(i love you) on license plates, the time hits 1:43, i'll pass a street, a picture file size, lol... kind of crazy. 143 or 637(always and forever). it gets worse when you're trying to get over someone -_-
love this :)
I've had a fortune say " Happiness is sitting right in front of you" as one my ex's was right across the table from me.
It was funny because one of the songs that reminded me of her too came on, which was actually Skillet - Those Nights. She was slightly embarrassed and turning red, it was cute..
I just still wish she would realize the signs that point to her for me. But oh well.
I don't think of these things as "signs," I just think of them as nothing more than a mere coincidence.
I have to admit that I do that a lot. -_- It's cute yet irritating.
I do not believe coincidences are anything more than coincidences. If you believe it's a "sign", then take it as a sign that maybe, just maybe, you haven't gotten over him.
I'm a believer of signs and maybe a bit too much becuase i come across way too many, not that anything happens... so i think about it, then disregard it, haha.
I think people notice what they want to notice, selective vision, selective hearing (actually proven psychological phenomenons)... if anything, it may mean your mind is thinking about something so you'll be more prone to notice or configure random occurrences as related.
Its one thing to see a car like your ex's car pass you by and think that's a sign, its another to see a car that looks like his car only for that car to take a U-turn and then for you to see that the driver of the car is him! I'd disregard the first to be a sign, the second...maybe.
well yea sometimes but i dont go around looking for it. it just happens
before my bf and i started dating, I was listening to K rock radio station and I was thinking about him and his favorite song " I wish you were here" by Incubus. I thought to myself wouldnt it be funny if it plays maybe he's thinking of me, but then this song is not popular and this station never plays it." and then in a few seconds it played and i got really weirded out.
I don't really think of them as "signs" but maybe just coincidences. Like, you probably wouldn't have even noticed the car if you weren't thinking about your ex when the song came on.
well, you are purposefully looking out for those signs.
it's cute, but irritating.
@lot223@xanga - yup agreed. once you're fixated on something like a song that you recognize, your subconscious starts to search for other "signs". I believe in signs, but not in the sense that the OP is expressing.
I believe in signs... but it's tough to know what they're actually trying to tell you!!! My last relationship had so many coincidences.... I didn't think they were just coincidences after! oh well....
@makerm7@xanga - Oldsmobile Cutlass I believe.
Sometimes "signs" seem so real. When really your just thinking to hard. I do it all the time and then i feel stupid for thinking so hard about something that honestly isn't really there.... "/
I believe in signs as much as I believe in Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny. :D
it depends, i guess. i, for one, believe them. but, i don't go putting my whole entire life on the line for it.
I dunno if it's a sign because I've always took it as that. I tried to go back to the one I love but in the end I got hurt over and over again. You really don't know unless they come back to you if they left you first or vice versa.
My ex broke up with me nearly 2 months ago and since then I've been spotting a lot of "signs" or just plain weird coincidences. It kind of pries my slowly enclosing wounds apart but they may seem like real signs because he's still in your heart. I know my ex is still in mine and as much as I try to get rid of thoughts of him, it won't go away so easily. I think over time..however long it may be, the signs will reduce.
