My Friend's Cheated...What Should I Do?
Q. A piece of news that blew me way yesterday (and annoyed me greatly): There is this really cute couple, the Jack and Jill of the school. People had their doubts (I had the most) but they actually really like each other.They are great together.
Niceties aside, Jill did the unspeakable while Jack wasn't around. Her class went out for a trip and she cheated on Jack, with a boy who he could actually share some genes with! I was flabbergasted, I haven't talked to her or him about it but school will be about as dramatic as a soap opera because of this. While mulling over this deceit, I realized that I KNEW SOMETHING JACK DIDN'T KNOW. Does he have a right to know? Sure, it's his girl but I couldn't tell him. I'm practically an accomplice to the eventual breakdown of this relationship.
Hearing this, especially from me would ruin him due to the fact that Jill didn't own up to it herself. Jack has a heart of gold and loves Jill to pieces. I am consumed by guilt for just knowing that ugly truth. If he heard it from her it would hurt but if he heard it from me it would hurt even more.
