All of the recent controversy surrounding David Letterman just months after marrying longtime girlfriend Regina Lasko (they have been together since 1986) got us thinking about all of the celebrity couples who have either chosen not to get married, or just never got around to it. I don't think "David Letterman proven that there's a reason to keep things unofficial." I just think those couples are doing what they want to. They'll get married when they're ready, or never get married, based on their relationship, not on someone else (if they're smart about it at least).
there's no rush.. what ever works.
until this moment, I never really wondered if Oprah was with someone or not.
why get married? especially if you're a famous celebrity with tons of cash.
as long as they're there for the kids [if they have any], then that's all that really matters

Why do you need to legally be together to be in love?
Marriage is more than a ceremony and a government certificate.
It's more official than those overnight marriages.
@breaking_expectations@xanga - There are people that I consider "married" even though they are not officially married. If they are in a monogamous, lifelong relationship with a family, I considered that being married.

arent you legally considered married (or something of that sorts) after you live together for so long anyway? i dont know. but if they dont want to get married thats their choice entirely. i dont understand why they havent, but obviously they have their reasons and thats no ones business.

in some states you have certain rights for living together for a certain amount of time or something of the like

Hmm in an astrological poiint of view.. this is all quite normal.. At least one of the partners in the couples are an air or fire sign who usually dont follow the traditional norms of marriage and dating :)
Shew I sure don't know, but I'm going on nine years - same guy & I am un-married and neither of us have ever lived with each other in that whole nine years either.
Some people make better long-time boyfriends/girlfriends because they couldn't handle each other everyday. They need space to make the relationship work.

People don't need to get married to prove they love each other.
If you're happy and faithful, then you're happy and faithful. Why would you need the ceremony? If I want to prove my faith and love to a girl, I just won't fuck her over and always be with only her. Not hard. Fuck social pressures and norms.
They've been together so long, why ruin it with a marriage. I think it shows more love and dedication to be together for that long and not be married anyway.
Gene Simmons and his girlfriend have been together for years and not married. They have three kids together.
