Odd News of the Day: Texas Bans ALL Marriages?
The news is Texas, in it's zeal to introduce an amendment to their constitution to ban same-sex marriage, may have inadvertently nullified all marriages, period.

Texas lawmakers wanted to make sure gay people couldn't get married. Instead, it seems, they may have made sure no one can.
The Fort Worth Star-Telegram has the story. Here's what happened: In 2005, Texas voters and the state Legislature approved a Constitutional amendment to ban gay marriage.
But the amendment included the following clause, which was reportedly designed to ban civil unions and domestic partnerships: "This state or a political subdivision of this state may not create or recognize any legal status identical or similar to marriage."
One thing that is "identical…to marriage," of course, is marriage. And Texas Attorney General candidate Barbara Ann Radnofsky, a Democrat, is arguing that the current Attorney General, Republican Greg Abbott, made a "massive mistake" in allowing the language.

Well, I got married last year in Texas and everything was cool. I could say my opinion and my belief but last time I did that....no one could just accept that it was my OPINION and spent their pathetic time cussing at me. So...I'll just avoid that drama this time. :P
That's ridiculous. I think ALL marriages should be legalized, making marriage illegal is just stupid. Really stupid.

Assuming that marriage is the only legal state identical to marriage, which I do believe it is, then yes, they banned all marriage.

Nice going Texas. Wouldnt look so damn dumb if you would just realize that the legal and religious aspects of marriage are independent of each other. Separation of Church and State my ass.
There is a guy in CA trying to get a proposition on the ballot to ban divorce. Reason? it is ruining the sanctity of marriage.
There is another guy in Louisiana trying to get eating shrimp and crawfish made illegal. Reason? The bible says eating shellfish is an abomination.
