What Was Your Worst Parents-Meet-Date Experience?
I didn't think I was the only one who have had awkward experiences when the girl meets my mommy. Perhaps I'm merely hoping its' not just me...
I remember the first time this happened to me. I was 15 and me and this girl who were (sorta) together were aching for some adolescent fun, well..the X rated kind. I knew my mom left for this class every Wednesday night at a certain time. So I told my mom the night before that I'd be out but I wouldn't be home late. I timed all of this in such a way where me and the girl would be getting to my place about 10 minutes after my mom left.
Well what happened? We're approaching my door, and we ran into my mom as she was just leaving. "Damn it!", I thought to myself. I had to think of a really bullshit excuse quickly to not make the situation look exactly as it did. Meanwhile, my junk was going through a state of..well...this:
So I told my mom that I was just bringing her over cause she was interested to buying this old pair of rollerblades from me. Which was true actually, she was. I think that was our cover story. But..
Yeah, my mom didn't buy it.
Oh well. She left. Me and the lady went inside and...yeah I'll sum this up with a clip of what a wise man once said....

I only brought a guy home to meet my family one time, it was when I was 16 and after that nightmare my family never met my boyfriends ever again...except for on accident every now and then over the years. They didn't even officially meet my husband until after we were married.
EVERY single date meet parent experience has been terrible. because i'm not supposed to date, so essentially it was a date meet guy i'm going to hang out with experience. so so so awkward.
ahahah well im 19 and i introduced my parents to my 2nd bf letting them think he was my first. and well my parents sat us down and lectured him about how studies came first, not to do anything stupid, NO SEX, for about 20 mins but it seemed so much more because of the awkward silences. and then when it was time for me and him to go out on our date they made me take my sister. it was so frustrating cause we're in an LDR. i havent seen him in a month and some alone time with him would have been nice..
but he was actually cool about it and we're still together lol having asian parents can be so frustrating and nerve-wracking. i was kinda intimidated as to what they'd think because im filipino and he's guatamelan and they're very old/fashioned/traditional
This last one when I brought my future husband home, it was awkward and my parents were like "sooo your a preacher" and "don't keep her out too late" and I was 22!
Hmmmm....I've never been embarrassed for my parents to meet any of my dates. I have really cool parents so I always WANTED everyone (date/friend/whoever) to meet them. Still do...lol.
I guess I haven't really had bad experiences lol. My parents are cool and get along with everyone pretty fine. I suppose the most awkward time was when my first boyfriend was sneaking into my house at 2 am...right at the time my parents were coming home from a night out at the bars, probably a little drunk, and were like "oh hey! you're _____ its nice to meet you!" Awkward...haha
well, this isn't exactly what you asked because my parents had already met him before this experience, but my dad caught me on his lap with my pants off. yeah. my pretty strict christian dad caught me with my pants off sitting on my boyfriend's lap. prettyyyyy awkward.
My mom and grandma walked into my dorm room while I was in the shower and my girl at the time was naked in my bed.
Same girl meeting her dad for the first time. I was sick and she took me back to her place, I was in her bed either naked or just in my underwear. Her dad walked in but I was too delirious to talk straight or say hello. He hated me after that.
You know, my mom's not that bad, usually, and when she is, I can overlook or forgive it.
She has told several people to get haircuts. She has threatened a few with a K-Bar. She "remembered one" who didn't remember meeting her, lol.
All forgiveable offenses.
i was at a parking lot with my boyfriend, doing what people do when they are in an empty parking lot. i look out the window and see blue flashing lights and the cop telling us to make sure our clothes are on. the police officer took my name and age, and asked if i was a runaway or there against my will. he took my boyfriend out of the car since i was 16 and he was 20 and talked to him for a while. the officer asked me for my parents phone number so they could come pick me up. my dad was already angry with me for other reasons, and of course he was even more pissed off when he found out that he had to pick me up from the police after being in a parking lot with a 20 year old guy. he knew that i had a boyfriend, but he didn't know that he was 20. i guess anything involving police makes for a bad first meeting between boyfriend and parents..
@ayeCHARR@xanga - hahaha that is quite a story x

@Sad_Andrew@xanga - well, he just kinda of saw us through the doorway (we didn't wanna close it beceause we thought that would be sketchy) so he gave us an EXTREMELY disapproving look and then went back downstairs and started slamming things around. and then when my boyfriend left, he said goodbye to my dad and my dad was extremely harsh and then as soon as he was out the door, my dad gave me a speech about "respecting myself" ugh.
@laurenmaureen@xanga - good thing is that they've already met, so time and efforts is saved for an introduction.
still pretty funny, oh, that's some afternoon delight for me in the library
thanks for sharing

I have never had this problem, never had a girlfriend, never been on a date.
It was my first time meeting him in person and my mum's first time meeting him. He arrived at the airport to pick us up, went the wrong way in a one-way, parked on the sidewalk and got yelled at by airport security for doing it while I was standing ten feet away, unsure of whether or not it was actually him.
He made it up because he had 2 roses with him - a red one for me, a white one for my mum. He opened to her with the line "My mother always taught me to give roses to a beautiful woman when I meet her."
When my mum and I got in the car, he told her "I really am a bad driver."
It's one of my favorite stories but my mum was livid about it. I had to tell her later that night that I'd met him over the internet instead of at a convention. We're still together, to this day. <3
My Dad and I thought a girl my brother was dating was a whore. A boy I dated in junior high brought me home to his less than satisfied family who thought maybe I wasn't the best looking girl for him.
I went to my boyfriend's house to watch the movie Teeth with him, you know where the girl has the teeth in her nether regions. We pop the dvd in are getting ready to watch it and his mom comes in " I want to watch this too!" Plops down next to us and sits there for the whole movie, through the sex scenes and awkward teeth situations.
It was horrible.well, my gf met my dad in the most awkward way, and she wasnt my gf yet. she was staying over cause we had gotten rained out of a met game and couldnt stay with my friend in the city, so we went back to my house, and she took a shower. my dad got home and was coming up the stairs as she was coming out... in her towel...so she was introduced to my dad in towel and nothing else after her shower, im pretty sure my dad thought that other things were going on, even when they werent lol
My mom met this guy I was sort of dating at the time. I was 15 and he was 17. I was telling my mom about how the guy dumped a bottle of water on me and he turns to her to say, "Yeah, I made your daughter wet." Then he just smirked.
