You're smack dab in the middle of a passionate make-out session, and for just a moment, you open your eyes, just to see what happens. Much to your surprise, your makeout buddy is staring right back at you. What do you do? Close your eyes and keep going? Keep them open and have an awkward staring contest whilst french kissing? I mean seriously, what is the protocol here?
Personally, the open eye kiss freaks me out. That's simply not how I was taught to kiss. And no one open eye kisses in the movies. I would feel better if I knew what they were seeing when they are looking at me. If only there was a way to see what I look like when I'm getting it on. But honestly, the thought of that just gave me chills.
I can see the other side of the argument, however. It's more intimate, more personal, staring into each others souls and all that hoo-haa. But I just can't get into it. It's eyes-closed all the way or hit the highway, buddy.

Either! I like to watch. Sometimes my husband and I make funny faces at each other.
When we first started dating he noticed that I would open my eyes sometimes when we kissed. He said it was cute and he liked that. I think it's silly to close your eyes all the time - do you have sex with your eyes squeezed shut?? I hope not!
lol creepy but i'm guilty of opening them once in a while myself. haha, i just want to know whats going on! it's weird though when the person I'm kissing opens their eyes too. when they join me i just shut mine again!
cute. you can see through eyes the real feeling while the kiss is lasting. you see whether someone is in love with you. no mistake there.
closed eyes are meant for more passionate, longer session of exchanging emotions in more sensible ways. desire is not always the same as being in love. desire is a function of a biological body steered by hormones that have little to do with thoughts of the individual.
closed eyes are less reliabile indicator of true love.

Haha I've done that before. It is a little weird seeing someone's face so close to yours like that. But why is it creepy to keep your eyes open while making out, but not while having sex? I mean, the faces people make during sex are probably much more interesting..

Isnt it etiquette to close your eyes? I'd feel really weird if we were staring at each other...kinda ruins the moment no? I say no to open eyes O_O
The first time I did it I was a bit surprised-my ex had her eyes closed when I opened mine so I just kept them closed until we stopped kissing.
Doing it as a joke, is pretty funny. But to do it every time you kiss, it gets awkward doesn't it?
