Teenage Love Affair
Everyone who's been a teenager has had one, some people are actually the product of one, Alicia Keys even sang a song about one! That's right, the teenage love affair. The relationship that sparks from the rushing of hormones through adolescent veins and the notion that the boy/girl is just 'so cute!' It lasts until senior year and then you don't hear from each other again.Sure, at that age, many argue that 'I do love him/her' but seriously, these things are more frivolous than factual. I am a teenager, I have a boyfriend. He told me he loved me and I said it back, do I love him? Sure I do, what I feel for him I can describe as love.
The thing about these relationships is that you enjoy them, they are just what you need while being a confused teenager and are in actual fact, thoroughly enjoyable. Whatever they materialize into in the future if anything is even better.
Do you remember having a high school partner??

...I didn't have one. I was too angsty & focused on school work in high school to be able to do any of that kind of thing, haha.
No. I don't remember any highschool sweetheart. Sadly, I went to a private Catholic girls school. I do remember my first lesbian experience though ;)
i didn't have one. i was too guarded for that.
I had more than one boyfriend in HS, but not at the same time of course, lol.
I dated a 16 year old my freshman year, we lasted a year and a half before I broke it off.
I dated a senior my sophmore year for 2 or 3 months, and we had a mutual breakup.
Then teen angst set in when I turned 16 and i got that boyfriend every mother hates, And we dated for 8 months- weird break up.
And then I had a rebound guy for a week.
And then I dated a guy my senior year- cheated on me, broke it off.
And then I met my now husband online the last semester of my senior year.
Ah, high school.
I only had one. What we had was good, but I'm glad we went our separate ways.
I find it amusing that the article starts off with, "Everyone who's been a teenager has had one," but the first three commenters claim exactly the opposite
yep, i'm married to mine =)
I never dated any boys at my HS, but yes, I do remember my teenager puppy loves during my teenage years.
Its funny, at first I started out dating freshmen college women (a teacher's college was real close). Then I settled down and went steady with my own age group the rest of HS.
i'm going back and forth with mine still -_- hahaha everyone should have one. it's fun and everlasting (at least the memories are).
high school relationships are a waste of time. the guys are very immature and only want a girlfriend to show off. I didn't have any teenage affairs. the guys at my h.s. weren't that hot. I crushed on the guy working at the mall Lol
Yes... the end of sophomore year til the middle of junior year. It was fun while it lasted but ultimately, it was the best that we ended. Gotta love those high school relationships:)
i didn't get into relationships in hs. what a waste of time. hahaha.
yeah. we dated two years, and just broke up this summer.
i have to say it was wonderful while it lasted. and i think it opened me up to not being so closed minded and shy.
Yes, I do.
I didn't have one, because I believed that there were things more important than stupid horny boys. I didn't have my first boyfriend until I was 21, and I've only had two SOs in my entire life....obviously the latter of whom I've been married to for 5 years. I definitely preferred serious relationships, not "flings" that didn't last.
Marrying mine next year. ;P
the guy I met during SAT prep, :)
I've dated a few guys, but my outlook on relationships is definitely realistic - I know that these relationships won't last. However, they're fun while they do, so why not? :]
I was single freshmen year but I had one boyfriend every year after that. And all of them lasted at least six months.
My last one lasted a year and four months until he cheated on me with a friend.I dated the same girl all through high school, she was my first love if thats what you wanna call it... We still feel attached in some strange way and keep in contact, but the facts are theres typically a better chance of hell freezing over as to high school relationships staying fixed especially if one partner or both have college dreams. I would do anything for this girl, i do believe i still love her, but our morals and ethics changed and are totally different from one anothers therefore the relationship wouldn't work no matter, unless both of us were willing to change some bad habits.
Now that its all said and done, wish i wouldve stayed single and insincere, i feel that i missed alot through HS. But the girl and I did have some kick ass times that she, i, and friends will never forget.
Dated one guy...but we all changed so much, switched friend groups...and he changed for the worse, got into drugs. *shrug* Wasn't my thing then. I was a bit sad but nothing doing.
@XoAsianBabioX@xanga - My thoughts exactly! :) I watched in mild amusement at the many relationships my friends got into and I watched their heartache when they ended..didn't seem worth it at the time..
me and my high school sweetheart are engaged<3 :}} he is the only thing that made high school bareable.
P0RCELA1N_D0LL@xanga- i would have to disagree, they arent always a waste of time, your generalzing.
I started dating a guy in 8th grade, he wa a freshman, he never dated me just to show off, he graduated and im a senior, were engaged and getting married in a year. weve been together 4 years.
