One Simple Question
Can you fall in love with someone you don't even know?
Could your soul recognize someone simply by sight? There is a certain athlete that I know solely through the television that I have felt a weird, strange connection to from the moment I saw him.
(I realize that this probably sounds completely stupid and irrational, maybe even borderline stalkerish. But I can't help it! I feel like if I met him, we could be great friends, maybe even something more.)And it's only ever been with this one guy, from all the hundreds or thousands of atletes, newspeople, musicians, actors and celebrities that I've seen.
So... what do you think? Can you fall in love with someone you don't even know?

Infatuation?
It's called lust. You cannot love someone you don't know.
When I was little I was in love with Tuxedo Mask.
@i_r_keiko@xanga - OMFG , SAME HERE !!! :D
I'd have to go with no.
No.
You wouldn't feel the same way if that person was ugly, right? So no.
simple answer. no.
@suggestivetongue@xanga - you may feel like you know them because you fall in love with their CHARACTER. For example, some women may feel like they are in love with John Krasinski's character Jim because they imagine themselves in hypothetical situations aka being Pam.
Hopefully you got what I mean. =] Fantasyland, activate!
it's called love at first sight. it's not generally something that you base a relationship on, but it can develop into a more stable kind of love later on.
it's not necessarily lust.
@snapeful@xanga - agreed
@bluehead69@xanga - haha, that's me. ;)
You know I believe that you fall in love with someone you do not know because of some sort of connection. You know that human beings are capable of using their minds to read other minds, thats if we all used more than 10% of our brain power. I believe that when you see someone and fall for them that it's your brain telling you that you have something in common with that person. It worked with the person I'm with now. I saw him and instantly knew that if I just talked to him then everything would work out and it did. We went on a date and clicked perfectly.
ahahha i don't think so...
otherwise i could say i'm in love with matt damon :)
nope.
If this is true, then I love Patrick Dempsey and John Krasinski.
no, although; when i was a teenager, when home improvement came out and was big. i had a major crush on jonathan taylor thomas. happy sigh* ♥
No you can't sadly love is a far more complicated thing then that. What your feeling is probably more lust. I think in order to love someone you have to really know them and I believe most relationships start with lust and continue with friendship and love. Not to say you have to find people attractive when you first meet them some folks like myself go from friendship to love because when you start really loving someone you don't care if they haven't washed their hair in a week or if they forgot to wear deodorant that day. (Okay so maybe a little, but you know what I mean >.>;) You see something beautiful in that person that's always there even when they don't look their best on the outside.
lol no.
lol how old are you?
No, thats called lust like some above mentioned.
Damn, why you gotta be so negative? People can always fall out of love, so why not fall for somebody in the here and now and get to know them later--and see where it goes from there.
I don't think so. Actually, this is often a problem with stalkers --quite often, stalkers are not actually stalking people they hate. Instead, they stalk someone whom they're convinced are their soulmate.
I believe it is possible. I started dreaming of the love of my life when I was 14 (10 years ago). I thought I was going to go insane because I dreamed of a life with him....and eerily enough....many of the events (most of them every day events and special moments) came true in exact coordination with my dreams (I used to write down my dreams and i can ALWAYS remember EVERY scent, sound, color, voice, texture). I met him last year and we dated and were going to get married....but he had to be an......a not so nice person.....and break up with me (even though he felt and feels the same way I do). So YES I do believe it is possible. I didn't know him for 10 years and boom there he was.
@i_r_keiko@xanga - OHHHH ME TOO! I MISS SAILOR MOON!
how can you be in love with someone you don't know? how would you know what to love about them? i'm confusing myself over this question but i'd say no. just by looks? actors? book characters? i think i outgrew that thought after tuxedo mask and sailor moon finally lived happily ever after.
