I think I am getting passed the age where I like meeting guys at parties (I'm almost 23). My taste has changed as I'm approaching that age where I want a hubby. I know for certain that not all guys at parties are "bad guys", but I believe I will find the man that fits my criteria more likely in other places. If I were to meet a guy without any matchmaker's or friend's help, here are the five places I would meet them.
Meet Him While He is Walking His DogI find it charming when I see a guy running or even walking his dog. I can imagine him wanting to take a stroll through the park with me. I think it is special in its simplistic way.
Meet Him At The BeachThis is actually a picture of me and a friend as we were role playing as lovers just for the sake of the picture. But, it wouldn't be bad to meet a guy before a stretch of ocean waves. It is naturally romantic.
Meet Him at a Coffee Shop Every city should have one of these coffee shops i.e. Peet's Cofee and Starbucks. People crowd there, fortunately, for a break and it is a nice, small, and cozy place to strike up a conversation.
Meet Him VolunteeringI would like to meet a guy that is donating his time and effort to a worthy cause. It shows that he is caring and has dimension in his character.
Meet Him on XangaI believe there is a lot of cool guys here on Xanga. You can start by reading his writing and take your time to get to know him, add him as a friend. Comment and hope he comments back.
What other places would be a great meeting place for guys and girls?

I met my husband on Sunday morning at worship services. He had just moved to the area and was looking for a congregation to worship with. :) That was my ideal place for meeting my husband.
The beach would be a great place, I'm not too sure about xanga, though - because I don't think I'd ever meet someone that I'd met online. But everything else sounds pretty nice. (:
a better idea would be to meet him while playing your favorite sport or doing your favorite pasttime, and that way, you guys can bond over a common interest and even go together.
love swimming? meet guys at the pool. love running? meet him while out running, etc.
LMFAO I WATCH TOO MUCH CRIMINAL MINDS TO NOT WANT TO MEET SOMEONE AT THE PARK... AND I'VE DONE THE WHOLE MEETING SOMEONE OFF A SOCIAL NETWORKING SITE... I'M GOOD OFF THAT... AND I'M SCARRED FOR LIFE FROM MEETING SOMEONE AT THE BEACH 'CUZ THERE WAS A BUTT ASS NAKED GUY AND I SAW HIS "PIGLET" AND IT WASN'T A PRETTY SIGHT...
XD I completely Did meet my boyfriend at the beach. I arrived with a couple friends, to find a couple more friends preparing for a spring equinox party. I went to talk to my friend Caitlin, and the cute older guy who noticed my horrifically butchered neck and made a point of pointing out the ridicukous hickey. Causing Caitlin to freak out and fire off guesses. Causing us all to go onto the rocky secluded part of the beach and smoke a bowl. Which caused problems when my father refused to let me stay at the wiccan celebration with my friends and the cute older guy..... He noticed the smell, and made a point of driving down a 70km speed limit road at 120 yelling about my degenerate friends.
Ironically enough, a couple months later I Left home, rather abrubtly and moved in with the cute older guy I met at that party.
Now I wished I had a dog. A small, furry little one. :P I love dogs though, so.
My dog gets crazy when other people or dogs are around, so I'm still skeptical on taking her to the dog park, but I think the dog park is a good place to meet someone, havent tried it yet, but I'm sure single girls who love their dogs go there? And running with her wont happen, because for some reason she always likes to cut me off, and tangle me in her leash -_-
The beach is a nice place to meet someone, I dont think it happens that often. I used to head to the beach alone when I had a lot on my mind...it's a peaceful place to just think, but no luck running into anyone, haha.
There are no cool guys on here whatsoever =P
go somewhere that you love to be. if you find a great guy there, chances are he likes being there, too.
met the guy i'm talking to now at the beach. we were both staying there for a week, same week, and he was only a couple houses down. that was in july and we still talk. :)
high school track team ;D
haha that's where me and my boyfriend have met.. and something that we didn't think would last past the track season has been going strong for over 2 and a half years!
I guess if I were to broaden it a bit, I'd say doing an activity you like! like running in a local road race together :P
Those are all good ideas. Two I can think of off the top of my head that I wouldn't do though: find someone at work or in your apartment building. Work is just awkward, and there might be rules against that too. The apartment building thing is ok if you can get it to work, but if it goes south, it could make for some really tense moments if you meet in the hall or something.
I like the Xanga thing. I've met a couple of people who I first started talking to here, and contrary to some horror stories, they're pretty cool. I can definitely see how it can work.
@raspberryjade@xanga - track ftw *high five*
The Bookstore is a really common place for people to meet. And if you guys meet in a section you both like then hey even better! Video store too lol
I met my SO at Facebook! Pathetic, I know--still we're the coolest, hottest and happiest couple in town x) (yea, ok, perhaps just happiest)
The mall is my numero uno modus operandi.
The elevator.
-Sporting event or competition
How about meeting in a taco bell parking lot? :P
@CrAdLe2daGrAve@xanga - I saw a commercial for that and I wanna watch it so badly now! But at the same time, it'll probably make me never want to go outside again :)
erm 4h camp... like 7 years ago in HS. we were best friends a number of years before we gave in lol
I don't drink coffee...but maybe I should consider it...hmm...I like the idea of places like volunteering and xanga. I think another interesting place is perhaps the same bus or train that you take everyday to work and you see the same people?
I meet the love of my week at the Train stop. What you know about that old school A train Love.
I met a girlfriend on Xanga once, and it was one of the more fullfilling relationships I've ever had.
church, coffee shops, shopping malls, facebook, maybe xanga
DON'T meet people at church. You might accidentally end up dating a Christian.
if you meet a guy that brought his dog along to do volunteer work at the beach (while drinking Peet's coffee)...you're in trouble!
but yeah, i find coffee shops the easiest place to just strike up a conversation with a stranger. the volunteering idea is actually a really good idea. i never really thought of that.
