I believe that beauty is within every woman, no matter what shape, size, skin, height, and weight. I've seen a reality TV show like "More To Love" about a man saying that plus sized women are "real women," when that's not true. I mean what about women who are thin because they just can't gain weight no matter how much they eat, or women who work out to keep themselves in shape, aren't they real women too?
Real women are everywhere no matter where you go or look, no one should be stereotyping what a "real woman" should look like. So no matter what size, shape, look, color, race you are, beauty is within you no matter what the world says, you were born beautiful, born beautiful you.
Do you agree or disagree? Tell me what you think.

I think this post is more suited for Lovelyish?
But, I do agree with what this blog is saying. :)
Of course women are told to love themselves for who they are. But then again, they are also told that they are not thin enough, not tall enough, don't have enough cleavage, have too much body hair, etc. It's understandable that women get lost in the sea of messages telling them what is real and what is attractive - because they are definitely not always the same thing.
I agree... beauty is truly everywhere. No matter what. Look inside and see what we see and feel about each other.
You may believe you are beautiful, perfect, etc., but if you can't convince your lover of that, you don't really stand much of a chance. Love is a two-way street. Being open-minded about these things doesn't change the fact that we are biologically inclined to stereotype on a superficial level. It's a habit that must be kept in check, but it's not always wrong.
@shoujo@xanga - I find it sad when beautiful women are told by the industries and by pressure that they're not beautiful. Women should just look inside and explore the world there and show everyone else.
@QuantumStorm@xanga - absolutely. if we were all perfect, there would be no impetus for sexual selection.
but yes, we are all "real" because we exist. lol.
Completely agree.
All women are real women.
Nice post. But sadly, the fact is not everyone is beautiful. This goes for both on the outside and the inside. Let's face it, some people (guys and girls) are just better looking than others....to ignore such a fact would be naive. They get more attention and will likely have an easier life.
On the other hand, true beauty is within. However, its also just as naive to think all people are beautiful on the inside. The fact is, there are a lot of crappy people in the world.
Not trying to be negative...but I wish more people would be more introspective and try to better themselves as people as much as they try to make themselves attractive on the outside.
Yes, I agree that anyone who identifies* as a woman is a real woman. This isn't a question of attractiveness, but rather a sense of identity. Telling anyone that they are not "real" or not who they see themselves as is terrible and can really dehumanize a person.
*Most "real women" statements are very cissexist. Non-cisgendered women are women too. :(
I agree. I'm disliking this current anti-thin anti-fit "real women are plump" mantra that's trying to fight off the thin model issues the media has. You're right, real women come in all different shapes and sizes just like real men.
The real message should be "stop focusing so much on beauty." Take a page out of the male handbook on that. Most men focus less on what they look like and more on what they're interested in (sports, gadgets, comic books, cars, ect).
That's not to say that all women should let themselves go. But then neither should all men. Balance is good.
AGREED.
The whole "real women are/have _____" is total bullshit. Beauty is totally in the eye of the beholder. Some people, even masses could declare one person more beautiful than another, but that by no means should make someone feel as if they're not beautiful or not a "real woman" - chances are someone, be it one person, a handful of people, or the rest of the world will find them beautiful regardless.
Yeah, I agree.
Agree. Great post!
what matters is how a woman feels about herself. maybe i don't get it.
Agreed!
Uhm, there's no such thing as a fake woman... Unless you're a mannequin, but if you are, then you shouldn't feel offended.
i agree.
I think people say those women are real women because magazines constantly show this perfect image that women think they should be. Most of the media shows skinny women in their stuff. Even ads for plus size women, they try to find the smaller types. I think that saying they're real women just points out that there are other women out there, some bigger and smaller and that not everyones magazine women thin.
But yes I agree with you on the message that the real message is to stop categorizing women and see beauty as an all around thing. All women are women and all women are beautiful. :)
@shadesofillusion@xanga - they totally should (and so should I). But again - it's hard to extract yourself from that tangled web of lies, isn't it?
@shoujo@xanga - it is sad but true. Lies about what looks right and what waist size you must have are ridiculous. These days it all about extremes, quite sad.
I love this post.
@MissPixieGlitter@xanga - Sexual attraction can come entirely from personality. That's how relationships are born from platonic friendships.
@shoujo@xanga - Just stand aside and examine every questionable idea until you realize the truth about it. Always keep in mind that normal is irrelevant. This also applies to attitude and personal values.
I guess, real, is just when you accept and make something of yourself
So true! We're all unique and different from one another. Everyone should embrace their natural qualities and be proud to be them self.
