There are various theories and points of view on the use of perfume and cologne and whether they compliment a person or make them a turn off.
I've heard girls tell me that they adore cologne on a guy, and I've heard girls tell me that they can't stand the smell of it. I've heard guys tell me that they love the smell of perfume on a girl, and on the flip side I've had guys tell me that the smell of perfume actually makes them sick.
So in an effort to settle this debate, I figured to throw this out to you guys.
What are your opinions of perfume and/or cologne? Do you like it when your dates use this stuff? Do you hate it? Why or why not? Why makes perfume and a cologne a major turn on or a vicious turn off.
It's time for you to sound off.

I love the smell on both a male AND female...as long as it's not over-powering!
On either sex, a little = sexy. I don't want to be able to taste it when I go to hug someone. 'Nuff said.
My boyfriend wears deodorant & that's good enough for me :] I wouldn't dig it if he wore cologne. Cologne is often times way too strong for my sensitive nose.
i don't like perfume on girls.
i like cologne on guys as long as it's tasteful, but usually a scented body wash does the trick just fine. i HATE axe.
aqua di gio = best cologne
Well I'm actually allergic to perfumes/body sprays with a flowery scent. But I'm good with cologne as long as the guy doesn't smell like he took a bath in it, because then, it's just too much.
I like both.
I love the smell of certain colognes. I loveee Armani and Acqua de Gio on guys xD
Personally, I love the smell of cologne on a guy. I am very sensory oriented anyway so I def pick it up. But like most things, too much of a good thing is a bad thing.
I love certain colognes and perfumes... Usually ones that smell light and fresh.
It's more important to smell good than to smell like expensive cologne though...
I was in Ithaca NY the other day and I walked by this guy and I could smell his cologne from a mile away but it was extremely mild and I liked it. I should have stopped him and asked what kind it was.
don't like it.
I like cologne a lot!
It depends on if they smell cheap and also on how much of the stuff they put on.
as long as either sex imo sprays it in the air and kind of walks through the mist, is probably a good amount.
Depends on the smell.
As long as it's nice and not over powering... I don't like it when someone put sooo much on that when they walk by, a huge waft of aroma engulfs you!!
Well perfume is definitely a good thing. I guess the key is how much. For me just a slight trace of it is absolutely wonderful but then again you need enough so that it lasts. I would say 1-2 sprays depending on the strength of the perfume.
Lol but to be perfectly honest a woman's natural scent drives me crazy. Nothing can compare. But in a professional setting such as when dealing with a colleague or business situations wearing perfume or cologne becomes invaluable.
It's nice on both, as long as it isn't overpowering. I use a tiny spritz on my wrists, which I dab behind my ears--you can't smell it unless you're close, then.
some of the smells make have a headache lol >.<
I hate heavy cologne on a guy. I also heard they did some study that shows cologne actually lowers a woman's sex drive, even if they say they like it. That study showed that the smell of licorice helped turn women on.. I wish I could remember where I read that!
Have you ever walked past a guy or girl (however I notice it more on guys) and they REEKED of bad cologne? It would smell good with a few sprays on a freshly washed body, but some ppl think cologne and perfume is an alternative to showering. Therefore, they smell bad because the cologne is mixed with their B.O... and its like they know they have B.O. so they go overboard with the cologne thinking it'll mask it. If you can smell the cologne or perfume on someone when they are more than 6ft away, you need to smell some coffee beans because your own scent has desensitized your sense of smell. Bottom line, I love cologne and perfume when a person knows how to wear it, and also, some scents are better on certain ppl.. so don't follow the trend, follow what works best for you. have a member of the opposite sex help pick out your signature scent if you have no idea what I'm taking about.
if its veryyyyyyyy light*
I like the fresh and light scents
I like cologne but without is fine, unless you smell icky.
I have two favorites on a female, both lightly not over powering. First is the Lucky Brand in the pink bottle, the second is the Japanese Cherry Blossom. Not expensive at all, but their my favorite.
