This past Monday I went to Sam's Club to get some things, and when I was at the register paying this really cute guy walked past me. When I walked out to my car he was taking in the shopping carts and it was so hard for me not to stare, he was so good looking!
Well, I kept thinking about him that week and even dreamed about him, so I decided to do something I never thought I'd do...
I wrote out a few drafts of a note to give him, finally deciding on this, "Umm...Hi! My name is ******. I've never done anything like this before, but I think you're really cute, so I figured, 'Why not?'. Here's my number, do what you want with it. :) ###-###-####"
On Thursday I went to see "The Ugly Truth" with my friend and we decided to go check the Sam's Club parking lot on the way to the theater. Sure enough, as soon as I pulled up he walked out of the building towards the shopping carts. I had planned to get out of the car, walk up to him and give him the note, but I chickened out.
As he was pushing a line of carts towards the building though, I drove up and stopped right in front of the opening with those heavy, plastic flaps where they take the carts. He walked up to my window and asked if I could pull forward so he could get through and I said, "Ok, but actually, this is for you." and I handed him the note and drove off very embarrassed.
Three hours later I received this text, "Hello. This is the Sam's Club Cart Associate who you so skillfully accosted and delivered your message." Ahhhh!! I was so excited! We texted each other for a little while and he asked me out on a date. Last night I met him at Starbucks and we talked and flirted for an hour and a half (would have talked longer, but I had to work) and I think it went pretty well. He's not only gorgeous, but smart, funny, and sweet. I can't wait to see what happens.
Have you ever done anything you never thought you would do? Please share!

Oh wow, you're a daring girl. I'd never be able to do anything like that! I totally admire you.
I did do a lot of stupid things that I never though I would do, but that's a whole different story, ahah.
Aww thats kinda cute, I'm glad things worked out. I haven't done anything that. I would probably just walk up to a guy that I liked and try to get him to ask me out lol...If I could work of the courage lol.
That's how my coworker John and I started hanging out....he slipped me a note over the counter in my department (deli) with his number, and we started texting and hanging out. Just keep haing with this guy and see where it goes.
how adorable.!
How cute! I don't know if I'd have the guts to do that. lol (:
i have tried to do stuff like that but my attempts are never quite as successful..lol. good for you though!
i've never done something like that, but i've had someone TRY to do that. this was 5 years ago, i was playing ice hockey with a few of my girls, just skating and fooling around. i noticed this one guy who kept on starring at me, but i didn't give much thought to it. around 9PM my dad came by to pick me up and i was untying my hockey skates. this guy was sorta just hanging near me the whole time, and looked like he wanted to say something, and give me a piece of paper (napkin) of some sort. i thought my dad would be waiting for me outside, but my dad came in right at the moment that the guy plucked up the courage to come talk to me. needless to say, we didn't exchange any words, and i just smiled and said bye. oh yeah, and his friends nearby all laughed and called him chicken right before i walked out the door. i heard everything.
Met my x-wife through a blind date and our first date we spend 4 hours at lunch and they had to kick out of the cafeteria because they needed to set-up for dinner. Funny thing was we both skipped all of our classes that Friday, because we didn't want to leave.
That is so fucking cute! What a clever text he sent too. Hope everything works out well, and quite a story to tell the kids.... hahaha.
Super cute and no, I have never done anything like that before. ;)
OMG!!! I've done crazy things before, in junior high and high school. The boy said he liked me one day, dated another girl the next, then back to 'liking' me. It was childish, but he meant a lot to me and it really hurt when he passed away. Tragic, but he brought out the crazy person inside. Amazing, how one person can make you become so daring. Haha.
haha too cute! i haven't done it (i don't think... at least no that i remember!) but i've had it done to me... and we ended up dating for a few months!
WOW! I'd be too scared to do something at all. haha i'm a shy person :)
That's adorable. giiiirl, you have balls.
Wow you're brave! (=
LOLOL. omg i dont know if i would ever do that. haha good job!
Wow, that's a really cute story. I don't know if I could ever do something like that! I'm not brave enough, but I wish I could. :) Good luck!
aw, good for you!!!!! i wish i had the balls to do that...
Well done! I actually met my husband in a parking lot, so I guess that's proof that these things can work out for the best. My great pick-up line was, "Hey, you look familiar, have I met you before?" A few days later we went on a first date that lasted 10 hours, and well, the rest is history! Hope you have similar luck!
haha SO CUTE
i wouldn't do that personally though LOL
Wow that is so brave! I have a friend who did things like that, and I always looked at her in admiration for it.
Daring? Well, I met one person offline and it turned out great. We had a relationship for quite a while. I still wouldn't make meeting ppl offline a habit though. Other than that the only thing I've done daring is flirt with guys, though I don't do much of that anymore.
cute! and he's smart. what elevated language.
Lol, nice. Hmm...I should try this sometime. Although the people who work at the Sam's Club I go to are all old. :/ You got lucky. Haha.
many years ago, i worked in an emergency room. the daughter of the patient came to pick her up. i wheeled her out to the car and made the off comment "nice car. you could take me home in this" several days later i received a call at work. the womans voice on the other end said "what time do you get off and i will take you home". she did and we had a short but fun romance.
Nice!
I'm too much of a social recluse to venture out and meet new people. New people?! OMIGAWD No Thanks!
I've met... perhaps ONE girl roughly ten years ago in this fashion. I admire people who can do this, and I often wonder if I'm missing out on meeting a genuinely good girl... At the same time, however, I'm figuring this wouldn't work too well for guys, unless you're Prince Charming himself. Even if you're good looking, you still come off as creepy.
Lastly, I'm paranoid (some say insecure!), but this is definitely paranoia and my own personal history... I am under the belief that every girl has a boyfriend. If I've developed a keen eye for a certain girl, you can bet that girl has a boyfriend. I am cursed.
