As a rule of thumb, I don't think you should have sex if you are unable to muster up the courage to purchase condoms, birth control, or a pregnancy test. You need not only be physically and emotionally mature when having sex, but also mature as a person. If you're old enough to be having sex, you're old enough to take charge of the responsibilities associated with it.
Being someone who spends a lot of her time on internet sex help forums, I've noticed one of the most wildly asked questions is:
Am I pregnant? This question is asked thousands and thousands of times every day by people on the internet who don't realize the most obvious answer to the question.
Buy. A. Test. You can spend an hour writing out a couple paragraphs about
"Oh my boyfriend kind of ejaculated near my vagina area, could I be pregnant? Here are photos of where his semen was and how long it was there. How much sperm was in his semen and how likely is it that sperm indicated in photo 1 made it up that far inside of me?"No one on the internet is going to know if you are pregnant. The truth is that any time sperm comes in contact with a vagina and gets INTO the vagina there is a chance of pregnancy. Yes she could be pregnant. Is she?
Take a test. Oh, but you're nervous. You don't want people to think you're having sex. Guess what? If you're pregnant, they might become even MORE suspicious.
1. Walk into store
2. Pick up pregnancy test
3. Walk to counter
4. Put back that magazine or other random object you are buying just so do you don't look weird
5. Purchase pregnancy test
6. Realize that no one cares if you go home and pee on that or anything else you've just bought
It's easy to think that when you walk into a grocery store and pick up something like a pregnancy test that the entire world is suddenly going to stop what they are doing and stare at you. Like, holy shit! Someone is having sex? Check this shit out!
In all reality, you'll go pick up the test, walk to the counter, pay for it, and then go home and be able to answer your own questions.
Have you ever been nervous to buy a pregnancy test or condoms? Have you ever made your SO do it for you?

nope, buying stuff like that doesn't bother me.
i've bought them for my friends who've been too scared to buy them.
i don't see what the problem is.
Haha. Way to go girl.
Not yet.. and I can buy them by myself. Its easier when I'm the pharmacist. :p
Lol I've never had the need to buy either.
Go to a store and BUY it????
Haha, I can't say I've ever had issues going into the store to buy anything like that. It's simply never bothered me.
Another thing I don't get: When girls get nervous buying their own tampons/pads. Really? You're female. They know you bleed. Just get your shit and go.
I've bought both, and wasn't nervous either way.
I think people are just too worried about being judged.
It's not that hard, just don't think about what you're buying and don't care what people think of you if they see you with it.
I never made an SO go buy them, but I remember I was out of town and stopped at a walgreens or cvs and I had condoms and some other items and the clerk ringing me up smiled at me and said, "looks like your going to have a good night!" I had to laugh, but I was mortified at the time!
Lol. I agree with you 100%. You should be able to go buy the test if you're able to get pregnant to begin with.
i don't feel weird buying them.
i just feel weird when i'm in the aisle & old people look at me weird. lol
i bought a pregnancy test for my friend. she freaked out so bad.
I was going to go out and get a pregnancy test for myself, but the day I was going to, I got my period and there was no need. I would buy condoms too, I wouldn't feel weird. Out of all of my friends, I was the last one to start having sex and at the time I was 17. So basically everyone I know is having sex.
i hate when people do that. i'm pregnant now and my friends call me all the time freaking out because they missed their period or forgot a condom or whatever. they ask "how did you know?" and i'm like..."i took a test."
i dont mind buying condoms or test...its tampons that i hate buying. i know everyone has a time of the month, i just dont want everyone knowing when mine is.
I think the only time I felt weird buying condoms was when I bought them with my boyfriends. The looks the checkout guy gave us (since I look like I'm 12) But its whatever. I just wanted to say 'yes... were gonna go home and have sex big deal'
Havent had to buy a pregnancy test thank god. Again the looks may be weird, but i gotta do what i gotta do.i remember when i went to go buy it with my hb..=Ohhahaha..
Never been nervous when I bought a preggy test for my gf and never been nervous while buying condoms.
hahaha I totally agree about being mature enough to buy condoms, Birth control, and pregnancy tests.
Although when I bought my first test, I was nervous as hell, not because  I thought people were looking at me, but I felt like I had this countdown to the moment of truth, which can be scary. It was also funny because I purchased it along with my prescriptions at the pharmacy counter, which I just also happened to be picking up my birth control. (hey I don't trust those things enough!).
It's because we tend to think that all eyes are on us all of the time. Like, did you know that people probably won't notice if you wear the same outfit twice in one week? They probably won't notice if you wear the same shirt twice in a row either. They are too busy thinking that you are noticing what they are doing.
I'm a guy and I've bought a pregnancy test and that's kinda awkward for me.
so stupid.
some girls are just retarded
I've bought one before. I had missed my period, and I was worried. It was awkward buying it, but it turned up negative so idc. :P
When I first got my period I was nervous about buying pads or tampons. I don't know why. Condoms and pregnancy tests are whatever though.
Maybe people ask the speculative pregnancy questions when it's still too early to take a test! I've done that myself, and heck, I'm thinking about it right now! My period isn't even due till Saturday, but I just have this feeling... I felt this way last month too though, and my sweetheart husband went to the store to buy me a test early one morning, so I could stay in bed and wait for him to get back with it (to use my first morning pee on the test). He also bought me a Diva Cup. He's fearless!! lol
well, the thing is, i live in a small town, so when i go to the store it is almost guaranteed that i'm going to see someone that i know. people still think i'm a goodie goodie virgin in this town.
i buy condoms all the time. sometimes i even make my bf buy it for us and even tampons or pads for me when i'm not feeling it.
