Fantasy Lovers
Have you ever read a romance novel book, and loved the story so much you would read it over and over? I have tons of romance novels by Sherrilyn Kenyon author of the Dark-Hunter Series, and my most favorite story is called "Night Play." I kinda get lost in it sometimes because I love the story so much.
Have you ever read a romance novel that you just wish you could be the heroine of the story and get the guy? If so what novel and author?

Um...Pride and Prejudice anyone? I would LOVE to be Elizabeth Bennet and get married to Mr. Darcy. Or North & South by Elizabeth Gaskell, I'd love to be Margaret Hale so I could have Mr. Thorton! But seriously, every time I read Pride and Prejudice I always end the book smiling. I do that as well with "These Old Shades" by Georgette Heyer, which is another AMAZING historical romance novel that I recommend highly to anyone who loves Pride and Prejudice and other Jane Austen. I also love the heroine of that novel, Leonie, and her love interest, Alastair.
Pride and Prejudice :D
Like, omg Twilight Duh!!!!!!!!
Just kidding! I'm going to have to say Pride and Prejudice. I think Mr. Darcy is the type of SO that would keep a relationship really interesting. It wouldn't be all, "No, after you" and all polite and what not. There would be some substance.
If that makes sense. :P
I have read two books in the Dark-Hunter series (but I forgot which). Very nice.
Uhh, hell yes. I wish I could get sucked into a story and become the main character who gets the desired person (I'm a guy so I can't say "To get the guy" cause it'd sound wrong).
But yeah, definitely several books...I guess Pride and Prejudice would be a good book. Elizabeth Bennett I'm coming for you ;)
Or maybe...TWILIGHT?*
I'd definitely like a SO who sparkles.*
*It's a joke. Please don't take it seriously.
I love romantic novels, my all time favorite book that I could read over and over again is PS I Love You. I'd rather read the book than watch the movie. The movie just ruined everything.
Yup. Hard Eight by Janet Evanovich, when Stephanie finally gets it on with Ranger. Whoo boy! That man is delicious!
.
Twilight. Bite me.
Naaaaah, I'm just kidding. I'd love to be Elizabeth in Pride & Prejudice though. Wonderful book :D
Um. This is kinda lame, but my grandma gave me the In the Garden Trilogy by Nora Roberts. I ended up reading all three books in a day. One of the main characters falls in love with this young, handsome, and for some reason reclusive botanist. Yadda yadda yadda, they fall in love, The End. But the series is really good because there are the romances, but there's a ghost story intertwined.
In fact, you all should read it.
a walk to remember. i could never get tired of reading that book =]
No. I reread science fiction and wish I could be part of the story, but I don't read romance novels. They just don't appeal to me.
a walk to remember, the notebook (: I never get tired of the movies or the books. I absolutely loveeeee how much Noah adores Allie.
I've read through most of that series! I have a thing for dark, tortured guys >.< so the one about Zsadist (is that how you spell his name?) is probably my favorite.
Yes, I have red one.
I stole it out of my sister's hands, read it aloud to my friend, and then got slapped. It was worth it.
I can't say I have.
I found one of my grandmother's trashy novels when I was about 12, and I just flipped through to all the parts about sex. That's my extent of romance-novel-reading. That stuff is godawful, and I can't understand why anyone enjoys it.
I was forced to go see A Walk To Remember with all the females of my family for my grandmother's birthday, and it was probably my worst movie-going experience ever. I wanted to stab my eyes out.
@jupiter312@xanga - Same here! Science fiction > romance. I tend to idolize the heroines in Octavia Butler's novels. Same goes with Moving Mars by Greg Bear and Brave New World by Aldous Huxley.
@methodElevated@xanga - Agreed, that's what I do with romance novels as well. A Walk to Remember was the only romance movie I've ever seen, and I fell asleep in the theater, next to all of my bawling friends.
Isaac Asimov was my introduction to science fiction and remains my favorite author. Elijah Baley (of the robot novels) was always the character I wanted to be.
I don't really like romance novels. Â I like action novels with a little bit of romance, but if the love story is the center of the story, I'm not usually into it. Â
Although I really did like Twilight. Â Not obsessively, but I like it. ÂI did like twilight, but im not obsessive about it.
but a walk to remember, the notebook, both movies and the books are my all time favorites. noah and allie <3 and who wouldn't like to be elizabeth in pride and prejudice!
*snicker*
i'm fine with my boyfriend.
although if i was able to live in a fantasical universe, it would DEFINITELY be post Voldemort times in Harry Potter. kukuku.
the shire would have to be another amazing option though. i wanna be a hobbit! :D i'd like to travel with gandalf too, though maybe skip the "adventure" part in "the hobbit."
thats how i feel everytime i read a dark hunter novel. ooh, the were hunter novels
well when i was young. Anne of the Green Gables...she had too many kids though. Movies i would say, Bridget Jones Diary
Sarah Dessen : This lullaby. Idk why, But I swear I can really connect with the heroine. But other than that, there's a LOT of books that I wish I was the heroine ._.
i am into the science fiction type romance, so I am going to have to say "The Mortal Instruments" trilogy, would love to be in Clary's position and have bad boy Jace lusting over me haha, or this other series called Wicked Lovely, lucky Ash has two very romantic guys fighting over her.
This may not completely apply but... Ron and Hermione in from JK Rowling's "Harry Potter" series. It's the first book that came to mind, and I do love the childish, too stubborn to admit you're in love, kind of love. :o)
Come to think of it, Pride and Prejudice might be a better one. Just as childish and stubborn, just more... "refined"? Haha
