  • The iPhone Loves Love

The iPhone has done it again. I'm going to have to replace the question "there's an app for that?" to "there isn't an app for that?" At this point, it's the things that Apple hasn't thought of already that surprise me the most.

Their latest invention is the Girlfriend Keeper app. It allows guys to enter in their girlfriend's information - number, birthday, anniversary and personal details - and will sporadically text her throughout the day.

    Some example texts:

"I just drove by a brown barn and it reminded me of your eyes."

"Did you know we started dating 37 days and 8 hours ago?"

Now I don't know about you girls, but I don't think I hate this idea. I love receiving random texts of affection during the day. But it really is a rarity when that happens. It's simply not in a male's genetic makeup to text his girlfriend every time he sees something that reminds him of her. But now, with a little effort (and $0.99) everyone is pleased.

If I found out his texts of affection were actually computer-generated, sure I'd be disappointed, but I wouldn't overlook his good intentions. He may have outsourced the physical labor, but he had his head in the game.

What do you think of the Girlfriend Keeper app? Worth the money or waste of time? Does your SO fulfill his cute text quota or would he benefit from this?

Update: Don't worry girls. There is a Boyfriend Keeper as well. I'd like to take a look at the stats on sales for these two. For some reason I think the Boyfriend Keeper may under-perform.
