  • She Asked Him To Go Home With Her--With Me Right There!

    Miss Walrus

I encountered a strange situation last night when I was out with my boy, hanging out with some of my (also, boy) friends. Being the gentleman he is, boy drove to my town (45 minutes away from his humble abode), picked me up, whisked me away (er, something like that) & drove me to see my fave local musician.  Upon arriving, I met up with some old guy friends from high school--who my boy has met a couple times--to hang out, drink & dance.

However, there was one rather unexpected guest: My guy friend's older (gorgeous, outgoing, completely hammered) sister.  We said our "Hello's", everyone was introduced & shots were ordered all around--which could have been exactly what put my friend's tipsy sister over the edge.

Basically, even though my boy was introduced as, well, my boyfriend, older sister found it okay to: 1) Ask him to dance, numerous times 2) Encourage him to go outside with her--alone--for a cigarette 3) Repeatedly profess to him that he was "so cute" and 4) Ask him what he was doing after the show.

Alright, so girl was drunk.  And girl is related to one of my really good guy friends, which I thought, somehow meant that she was "safe"-- that any flirting she did with my man was all in good fun.  However, as the night went on and sister's eyes grew perpetually more glazed over, I think she forgot that my man was taken---and that I was standing RIGHT THERE!

I tried to keep my cool, but when I heard he say that she wanted "to hang out with him after the show" I shot her the look of death, like, "Really?"  However, at that point sister had already stumbled closer to the stage to scream, "I love you!" at the performer.

So, my question is: How exactly are you supposed to handle a situation like this?  I didn't know whether I should've done what I did--which was hang back, seething with anger, but not letting it out, or whether I should've asked Miss Drunk Sister to step outside for a few words.

    What would you have done?
