  • Do You Email Your SO?

    Miss Walrus

Quick little question for you lovely readers: Does anybody actually e-mail?

Now, I know I'm a bit of a social media junkie, but I would so totally Facebook message (or IM), MySpace comment or tweet my boyf before I'd ever think to bust out his email addy. I really only check my email for more professional communication, like with professors, editors, etc. My personal stuff stays on my personal sites.

However, I hear email mentioned in movies, in magazine articles & talked about on the streets, so obviously, somebody's doing it. Do you & your SO keep in touch through email, or has the word just become synonymous with other ways of communicating online?

I email my boyfriend. We actually use to email a lot during our first few months of dating. He works in an office and that's how we talked though out the day. He works in the field now, so we just texts and phone call each other.

I still email pictures, videos, random emails and e-cards whenever I have the chance and he does the same.

I prefer email than using myspace, twitter and facebook to talk to him.

    xo

I send e-mails to my fiance all the time. We live together, but it's a treat every once in awhile. I will also send letters (though very rarely).

Of course people would prefer instant messaging because, well, it's instant messaging, but I e-mail with my SO.  It started when (pre-SO-status) he moved from SoCal to NorCal for a year last summer and we didn't really have any means of communication other than e-mail while he was in school since he lacked internet connection in the place he was staying.

He lives down here now, so e-mailing isn't as necessary anymore, but it's still a treat.

    Hell, I still snail mail.

only when i was out of the country, because it was too expensive to send him texts. so i emailed him when he wasn't on messenger (6 hours time difference haha). since i'm back home i never email guys.

My husband works in a high security building on base --- top secret clearance and above and no cell phones allowed. We e-mail throughout the day to keep in touch or just say hi since we can't text. While he was deployed, we e-mailed a lot!

I used to email girls in middle school!!! But that was like... 12 years ago LOL I use email for professional reasons only now.. and to get awesome coupon deals.

@XxFireXboltxX@xanga - Exactly. While my soon to be husband is in Iraq we keep in contact with Skype and AIM, when those fail, email is a welcome alternative. Anything to keep in contact with one another!

Yes, we email. We also send messages via Facebook, text each other, and call each other. I guess we just do whatever's the most convenient at the moment.

yea we both check our email constantly for work and school but once in a while we'll send each other a funny message or something even tho we talk and text or facebook each other most of the time. its a nice surprise to change it up once in a while cus we arent expecting an email.

I hardly ever email other people unless it's for professional reasons as well. Since my boyfriend has a pretty random schedule, the only consistent way we communicate with each other is by calling.

  • disorderedpersonality@xanga

We email each other all the time, actually.

emails = the modern pseudonym for love letters

i could probably chart all the major (romantic) moments of my life via my Gmail, no lie. =)

Well, my boyfriend and I sent e-mails for awhile - For when I was in summer school (When I came home, he would go to work. So he would send me one in the morning, then leave for work), and when he went off to Taiwan for a couple weeks (Obviously the time zone was wayy different).

    I think they're cute.

  • musinuite@xanga

Uhm, I just call him. My SO is firmly against social network websites, If I want, I can email him, but that's rare if ever. I text him, but he'll usually just call me because he doesn't like texting, either. :P

  • SWEETxN0VEMBER@xanga

my bf and i have never emailed one another. it's just strictly text and phone calls.

  • Camouflaged_by_night@xanga

I emailed my SO whenever he was in another country.

  • Shy___Away@xanga

I only email him to give him a link to a page I want him to see.

    ... yeah.

  • e_franz12@xanga

We email more than we talk to one another on facebook or myspace or anything like that. But we've also done the long-distance thing on and off for years so that probably means we're more likely to use ever form of communication available, lol.

And when he's deployed email is a must. When you can't see them or hear their voice an email is a wonderful thing :)
  • Morningstarrising@xanga

Yes, especially when we were 1200 miles apart.  I don't do it often anymore because my husband and I live in the same house, and he doesn't have email access when he goes to work (he's in the Navy, but still in school).   I know I will once he's on the boat, and especially when he's deployed.

  • Fluxuater@xanga

We have before but rarely. Text messages are so much easier. I email him randomly sometimes, but he rarely replies, or intiates.

He randomly emailed me before we started dating to tell me he liked me. It was adorable. :)

  • Noelleish@xanga

I email my SO all the time.  Sometimes it's our primary means of communication (it's a LDR).  MSN is preferred, but I like the privacy, the fact that you can write as much as you want and the personal touch an email gives.  I also love the excitement you get when you're going to check your email and are expecting a reply. heh.  I wish more people used email.

  • mewithoutu77@xanga
