Why Don't You Have A Seat Over There?
If you've never seen To Catch a Predator, here's how it works: Perverted Justice chatters pose as underage kids online and chat with guys interested in sex. The guys are invited over to a house, where the bait (typically an actress who looks like she's underage) invites them inside. Then WHAM! Chris Hansen shows up, says "why don't you have a seat over there?" and rereads them censored versions of their online chats while they stammer and make up completely implausible excuses. Hilarity ensues; the guys leave and are immediately arrested.
These guys are disgusting, but there's something so satisfying about watching people get caught by their own traps...and Chris' deadpan reads of their explicit "here's what I'm going to do to you" chats are pretty fantastic.
Here are some of my favorite videos.
"I didn't do anything...yet!"
"You wanna tell me who you are now?...Nope."
"You should take your...jelly."
Oh man. There are a ton more on YouTube if you're interested. Somehow they never get old.
Do you have a favorite TCAP segment?

Ohh, I was just watching that show the other night. Love it, hahah.
uconnbluenwhite - that's my college! I probably shouldn't be excited about that, but I might've believed he was a student as there are plenty of creepers wandering around our campus at any moment. I've also heard of some of my 22 year old classmates soliciting young girls for sex... Anyway, I do like to watch this show but it's a bit disturbing. :-\
Scary, scary, scary.
I understand their motivations, but the way they go about that seems unethical to me. I think someday some brighter-than-normal ephebophile is going to have the good sense to bring a gun with him, and then things won't end well.
LOL... wow.. these pathetic creepy old men...
Lol, creeeeepy.
Ugh, these people. Guys like this have talked to me before too, but I just block them. Is it only ever young teens? What about 17-going-on-18?
I've never actually seen the show on TV but I've watched clips like these online.
Classic. lol
Do we really have to put all the blame on these men; there are little girls that go out of their way to find some creep out there. I have seen youngsters as young as 10 go into chatrooms that are for adults. Some of them go out and look for trouble. Parents need to use caution.
"You should take your...jelly." Haha.
@WhenHateIsTheOnlyOption@xanga - But the men should know better. It's ultimately their own fault.
Mad TV parody
I like when they catch religious men like priests and rabbi.
it's kind of like the precrime unit in minority report. it may seem unethical, but they put guys who do this kind of thing behind bars. it's sick and disgusting. i hope they're locked away for ever.
I remember one episode where a guy just got naked once he got into the house. They had to cover him up in a robe before interviewing him.
@Meowmeowkimmaee@xanga - I think the usual range for their investigation is like, 11-16, with the average being 13.
@FallenReign@xanga - I wonder if it still counts as soliciting a "child" if the minor is 17.
@Meowmeowkimmaee@xanga - I'm pretty sure it does. Cause legally, 17 is a child, and even if you turn 18, anything that happened before you turned 18 is still illegal.
@harmonyminusmelody@xanga - unethical? they're charging these men with things like soliciting a minor for sex, or using the computer to seduce a minor, or sending pornography to minors, etc. --- things they've already done.
I've watched that show but it just creeps me out.
@FallenReign@xanga - @Meowmeowkimmaee@xanga - In many states the age of consent is 16 or 17 and thus sex with them is legal regardless of them not being an adult.
The naked Indian guy was hilarious. Or the guy who passed out and fell through the kitchen island.
Hilarious in a....creepy, pedophile going to jail, sort of way.
Lawlz. I love that show.
@untainted_love_for_her@xanga - Finally. Someone who agrees with me. It does seem unethical to me. Just like who cops who pose as drug dealers nap people who buy from them. Cuz you have to admit that if there are like 13 year olds saying about how they want to do sexual things and will do it with someone whos at least twice or almost three times as old as them then wouldn't there be some things wrong with the girl or boy as well?
wow.. that's sick.
