  • Cutest Romantic Encounter?

    Miss Giraffe

As much as I complain about public transportation, it's these places where I've met possible romantic attachments. My friends and I always joke about me finding my soulmates on trains. The first time was when a boy noticed my Jay-Z lyrics on the strap of my backpack. We liked the same music; he was pre-law but wanted to be a writer, I was a writer being forced into a more practical field; we were from the same area. We spoke for a while, I was instantly smitten, but however, nothing came out of it.

Now, the second time was much more impressive.  I was rushing to catch my train (as always), and when I barged into the train, I saw a cute boy sitting near the end of the compartment. Of course, I sat down four rows back and across away from him. We were making eyes at each other all throughout the train ride, but he got up to transfer at a stop. Before he left, he looked back at me, and we smiled at each other. And then just as I was about to start reading a book, I noticed that someone was standing by my window -- it was him! I'll admit, it was slightly awkward, and I remember blushing profusely, but then he pressed a piece of paper against my window that read:

    call me:
    (his number) :)

I thought it was the cutest thing, and even though it was a couple years ago, I still remember it vividly. Nothing really came out of it -- two or three dates, and then we stopped speaking.

What was the cutest encounter you've experienced? What happened? Did you end up with him/her?

I was drawing my house from across the street when my neighbor's cousin was talking to me about art and things.  It was pretty.. okay.  Nothing like that.  Haha.

I've had guys offer to pay for my train fare...but I have a monthly pass.
Does that count? Oh, and I got myself a stalker once on the train too.

Haha okay this was back in elementary school. It was like 4th Grade and I don't think I was into girls at the time but whatever. One day we were doing some art project where we drew someone or ourselves or whatever. There was this girl in front of me so I said what the hell right?

(Easier to draw someone infront of you than of yourself!) I thought.
So as I was drawing her she kept at looking at me as well. I got nervous because she just kept staring!
(Like woahh dude what are you looking at? Trying to sneak a peak at my awesome poster?! No way jose!)
So I had kept covering it with my left arm while scribbling with my right hand. Turns out at the end of our Art time she was drawing me because she liked me, and I was drawing her so she blushed and giggled and whatever. It weirded me out at the time since, I only have guy friends because girls had cooties. So what happened in the end? I ran away during recess, and a couple years down the road I got a crush on that same girl. A little too late huh?

I was on the bus on the way to school (I was in Massage Therapy at the time) & I was waiting for my stop when I felt someone tap my shoulder. I was kinda startled because I dont know anyone here so I turned & this tall blonde guy says hi & I said hi back. then he said my earrings were nice & I said thanks. I was really shy & he was cute too so I asked him if he wanted to sit next to me but he had to get off at the next stop. For a month I busted my ass to get that 7:15am bus so we could talk. Then when my schedule changed, we traded email addresses & phone numbers.

I'm glad we didnt go past the talking & lets get to know each other phase because he told me he was married but it was an open marriage & he really liked me so he was being honest. I told him I wasnt into that so I stopped talking to him. It didnt end on a good note but how we met was cute!

    @macphoto@xanga - Sure, why not. =)

What some of my old school friends and I used to do is eat at small restaurants and if we see a group of girls eating there too (not like a huge group mind you, we're not rich). And if there were no guys with them we would pay for their bill and leave a note. "You girls look great today. Lunch is on us. --Random Guys Doing Random Things."

Okay that just sounds like random acts of kindness now that I think about it. Maybe we should've left our numbers...

  • macphoto@xanga

@AznFier@xanga - wow...that is awesome....you should have left your numbers. I thought stuff like that only happened in the movies.  Ummm, I live in Boston and can be seen at either the local Thai or Indian restaurant.....lol

When I was 14, I was really into singing, and every weekend that I spent with my dad he would take us to Karaoke at this little well known family restaurant.  On Sundays they had family days but the place was pretty dull and not busy at all.  One Sunday we decided to catch some late lunch with friends.  I got up and sang (Which was the one thing that was surprisingly in my comfort zone)  My friend and I jokingly whispered about how cute the boy a few booths away from us was.  We didn't really make eye contact but he got up and headed towards the stage to turn in a song, and as he walked up  he passed our booth.  He threw his number on the table and said to call him.  Ha ha.  I was 14 so this never lasted very long maybe 2 weeks tops ,but I have to admit that it was kind of smooth for a 14 year old.

  • soberheartss@xanga

i like the " call me" encounter ;)
quite smooth , if i say so myself!

  • happyobligations@xanga

Haha! Omg, cute stuff. Why did you guys stop going out?

  • lapis_lazuli917@xanga

....I have a few stories, but they all amount to nothing x)

    I can't contribute much.

But the one that sticks out is when I met my, hate to say this, "first love" guy. >_>

It was the first day I transferred to my high school, from which I recently graduated. By the time I was done with all the first-day things at the offices, I found my third period classroom. As it happens, the teacher sits me next to him. I sort of noticed him right away, but didn't act on anything. We became friends, and didn't go out until a year later.

    Voila.

.___. And no, we didn't end up together anyhow, sadly enough.

My bestfriend was having a housewarming party back in April when I met my current boyfriend. I walked into her house and turned the corner when I saw him standing there and I smiled and said hello after not seeing him for nearly two years. I had to leave early that day to go to another party, but returned shortly after only to see him again and continue where we left off. Later that night, I went home and he texted me right before I fell asleep. After a few hours, he called me and we ended up talking until 3 in the morning. When I picked up, he told me he wanted to hear my voice. Cutest encounter for me and going on 4 months :)

  • S0N1@xanga

Awww, the one with the phone number was cute :)
I haven't had any really cute ones :(

  • LiL_sWeEt_BaBBii@xanga

the second one was really cute. mine wasn't anything like that. i'm actually in a very long-distance relationship(i know). i knew him since we were kids. i liked him around summer of 1999. i thought he was the cutest boy around. but him and i never happen cos he was the shy type. but then my family decided to move here in the states. so we left after my freshman year(2002) and ever since then i never saw him. but i did get some things about him from my friends when i get in touch with you. and i dream of him ever so often. anyways, let me forward it to december of 2007. he tried to get in touch with me. i didnt recognize him at first. but when i did, i messaged him hoping he remembers me. and lucky for me, he still remembers. we exchanged YMs. we started chatting. and after 2 days of chatting(we chat like there was no tomorrow that i barely slept) he asked me to be his gf bcos he didnt wanna lose me again. which i thought it was nice and romantic in a way. so, i took a chance on him and here i am still with him for 19 months, still going strong. but we did broke up once but he kinda grovel. lol
