I saw my 16 year old cousin this weekend and I couldn't help but notice how much make up she was wearing. I don't remember exactly when she first started wearing make up, but I do remember she was very young. Even when she was only 13 years old, she looked older than 18 because of all the makeup she wore. One night while we were hanging out, some guys that she met thought she was my older sister. It makes me sad to see girls so young wearing so much make up because no doubt they're beautiful and don't need all that make up. I barely even wear makeup and when I do it's usually just eyeliner and mascara.
A few years ago my older cousin called me even after we had stopped talking because she was so worried about her sister and didn't know what to do. She said she was walking home one day and saw an older guy leaving her house. The only person home was her younger sister, so she asked her what was going on and her sister just gave her an attitude and said "Nothing." Apparently my younger cousin had been meeting guys on MySpace and then inviting them over and hooking up with them. She was around 12 or 13 at the time and the guys she were meeting were at least 16, some even older than 18. I'm not sure if she lied to them about her age or if they just didn't care that she was jailbait. Eventually she admitted to hooking up with over 10 guys.
I don't mean sex either, it was just kissing and touching or so she claimed, but for a 12 or 13 year old that's quite a lot.
It's almost scary to see the way younger girls are dressing and acting these days. They're doing things they're not ready for and many of them are left with consequences such as the responsibility of a baby or even an STD. Can you imagine being 13 years old and finding out your pregnant and you may or may not know who the father is or having a doctor tell you that you have herpes or worst yet contracted HIV? If you're a parent, what if your child told you that. How would you react?
I wish those girls would realize that they're still so young and they have the rest of their life to be an adult and take on adult responsibilities because as it goes for most people the older they get the more they wish they were still young. Why would anyone want to waste their youth like that? When I was 13, which wasn't long ago at all I just wanted to be 13 and do things that a normal 13 year old did such as hang out with friends and go to the movies. I didn't want adult responsibilities yet because I knew that once I was an adult I wouldn't be able to get my youth back.

this is sad. I hope she stays safe and doesn't find some really bad person that ends up doing something horrid to her.
It's a frightening thing. Things and actions like these make me worry about my sister. I remember that I was fourteen years old and I hung around people who were much older. However, I didn't do it for sexual or romantic needs. I did it in order to fit in, find common interests. Even now I find common ground with people many years older than I.
Seeing this disturbs me. I really hope my young sister doesn't fall into such a pattern.
Kids these days.
What happened to good old fashioned discipline?!
@GiantUnicorn@xanga - Good discipline is extinct like the dinosaurs. Naw. That's not fair to the few good parents. Good discipline is on the endangered species list. We better start producing good discipline like rabbits before they start dying out.
young kids aren't going to "realize" they're too young. they need mature guidance from someone who cares about their safety.
To the OP, I suggest you or someone close to her, sit down and have a real chat. Lay it down. You need to say and do what you can now, but you have to understand this. Once you tried your best, it's up to her to take what you say or not. If she choose to make mistakes and end up with consequences, you've already done your best to save her from the hurt and potential regrets. Unfortunately, some people just learn better when they make mistakes on their own.
@thisboyissexy@xanga - everyone's too worried about "Child abuse" and crap labels like that. But honestly when kids don't listen what's left but a good old spanking?
I remember there were girls like this when I was 13, too... I don't know if it's that the number is growing, or if you just notice it more in younger people as you get older.
I don't think it's curable, I see my older sister doing the same thing, and I hate it. And no matter what her family tells her, she still does it.
@GiantUnicorn@xanga - Ah, you are the rabbit of hope. There are not many people left in the world that understands the difference between spanking and abuse.
Pretty gross. I hate to see kids that young getting so sexually involved.
The problem is that girls that age dont know how to wear make up properly. Instead of just highlighting their attractive features and making it look natural they just cake everything on and go crazy. It not only makes them look older but it also makes them look trashy.
I would suggest you talk to her mom about this. She is too young to be getting involved with random guys from the internet (let alone 10 guys). She's going down a dangerous road and this needs to be nipped in the butt.
Where are the parents in this? Who watches over this child after school and weekends? Who monitors her computer use and friends? These are parental responsibilities...responsibilities that are meant to keep the child safe.
@GiantUnicorn@xanga - you get child protective services called on you nowadays for using that.
@macphoto@xanga - they're in the burbs where their parents are too busy to deal with their children because of work, and they expect the internet/tv to be a babysitter.
@Gerald_Washington@xanga - I know. But it's not child abuse. It's discipline.
@GiantUnicorn@xanga - I'm not disagreeing with you. I'm talking about their view.
@Gerald_Washington@xanga - Something is seriously wrong with society when we have to work so much that we are not available to care for our family. I swear a downfall for the family was opening up everything on Sundays...but, that's a different topic.
@thisboyissexy@xanga - I've already tried talking to her and so has a couple other people, but she just acted innocent when I tried talking to her and showed no interest in what I had to say. I don't know how it went with the others though.Â
@GiantUnicorn@xanga - Truth is her parents did abuse her when she was younger, which I think may be part of the reason why she's like this now.Â
@macphoto@xanga - Unfortunately the parents were never really in any of their children's lives.
@SimplyNita@xanga - Oh that is so sad. That just breaks my heart. Lots blessings, thoughts and prayers being sent for her.
My cousin is a bit of a slut too. She's 18 now, but she lost her virginity at 14, and now she "doesn't count it" because it was "just a 'test drive'". All she and her boyfriend do is have sex. She "cuddles" with all her friends (guys and girls, often all at the same time). Unfortunately, there's nothing you can do for these kids other than talk to them. If they won't listen, you just have to wait until they come crying to you that something terrible happened, then be there for her.
I agree
My school is full of people that would go around with anyone basically bed-hopping from one person to the next. I know people younger than me that already have sex with 7 different people.
And I'm pretty young myself.
I wish I had the patience to write a lengthy diatribe about the same subject, but instead I'm just going to quote a few lines from one of the greatest poets of the 20th century,Ian Fraser Kilmister from his celebrated work "Jailbait":
"Hey baby you're a sweet young thing,
Still tied to Mommy's apron strings,
I don't even dare to ask your age,
It's enough to know you're here backstage,
You're Jailbait, and I just can't wait,
Jailbait baby come on
One look baby, all I need,
My decision made at lightning speed,
I don't even want to know your name,
It's enough to know you feel the same,
You're Jailbait, and I just can't wait,
Jailbait baby come on
Hey babe you know you look so fine,
Send shivers up and down my spine,
I don't care about our different ages,
I'm an open book with well thumbed pages,
You're Jailbait, and I just can't wait..."
Ughh. She needs a good ass whooping.
when i was 13.. i did know 2 girls that got pregnant and what deterred me the most was watching what seemed like an alien sqirming and trying to crawl its way out!!

And this is why I hate most people my age...
It isn't just girls... when I was 14 I dated a 19-yr-old (but we weren't intimate). She wanted it but I was scared... good thing, too. Maybe some genuine fear is the only thing that can keep kids out of trouble.
