Okay, so while having a "song" is admittedly a total cliché, there is definitely something about my boyf and I claiming that special tune as ours. Now, I'm not necessarily talking "Endless Love" here, but a song that truly touches base with every aspect that makes your relationship what it is.
My SO and I have spent hours pouring through our iPods, trying desperately to find that one song that we feel fits us as a couple. We narrowed it down to two, and then we had to make a choice: be totally original, or be overly romantic and somewhat embarrassing in our decision. We finally buckled down and went with the original choice, but it got me thinking: what started this tradition of choosing one romantic ballad and claiming couple ownership of it?
What do you think? Do you and your SO have a song?

lol. i made up a list of "wedding songs" - songs that i would play at our wedding if we were to get married.
the idea tho is a little too silly and insane, so i never really told him about it (at least not yet anyways) but i just thought, if we pick a song too soon, and then later on break up, it might permanently ruin the song
No.
This just reminds me of THE MOST ANNOYING SONG that I have to hear every fricken day at work.
Our Song - Taylor Swift
FUCK IT!
Our song is You Are The Moon - The Hush Sound
Because he plays it to me on Piano
:]
Summertime by NKOTB. Simply because it made me think of her, and she liked it too.
It should be a song that means something to you two as a couple.
Personally, we have Strata-Love Is Life as ours and our first kiss was to POD- Alive.
nope no song.
but the concept is very old and stems from how one was feeling at the time when a special event occured while with ones lover. to have to "hunt" through many songs to find "your song" seems to be lost in translation. to me, based on the findings of what "our song" is supposed to be, you would have already known it.
anything, anything by dramarama. :D
we both liked the lyrics but i like the buckcherry cover more.
xo
Someday Out Of The Blue, Elton John (blog)
The song went from "if I hear it one more time, I'll throw the radio out the truck window" to 'our song'
Some day out of the blue
In a crowded street or a deserted square
I'll turn and I'll see you
As if our love were new
Some day we can start again, some day soon
jizz in my pants. we're hella romantic obviously.
Mhm. Wishlist, by Pearl Jam :]
Well when we first when out it was Rachel Starr - Till There Was You but that kinda describes the beginning. Now I think its Osunlade My Reflection but song choices haven't been discussed in a while so err im not sure =/
i think you want a song that always makes you think about your SO and how great your relationship is. my first serious gf and i got together in the spring of our junior year in high school. we heard a song on one of her cds that danced to together in 6th grade, and it became our song. it still reminds me of her and all the good times we had in our 4 years together. it still means a lot to me so i think that if you're gonna have a song it should be something like that, not something that you choose from an ipod playlist.
walk lyke an egyptian
My SO and I don't have a song but there are a couple of songs that reminds me of the men in my past. Lol.
oasis - wonderwall.
More Than Words - Frankie J.
It became our song by random occurrence. I heard it at a restaurant and told my bf that it was one of my favourites. He forgot what it was and spent 3 days looking for it to put it on a mixed cd. It was really sweet of him to do that, and that's what I think of everytime I hear the song. It should hold special significance and not just because you want a song just for the sake of having a song.
lol i dont have a SO right now, but the one that just ended, it was "wonderwall" by oasis
With my current boyfriend, Love Paradise by Kelly Chen.
With the ex, it was Hands Down by Dashboard Confessional
with my last boyfriend it was first love by utada hikaru
ours is Your Hand In Mine by Explosions in the Sky :)
"Vultures" by John Mayer.
We also used to count "All I Ever Wanted," by Chuck Wicks as one of "our" songs, but we feel like we've outgrown it. It was replaced by "Then" by Brad Paisley.
We have been picking weddings song but we have like a few songs lol
All Or Nothing - Theory of a Deadman
Suffocate - J Holiday
OH,
Lucky - Jason Mraz is our NEW favourite 'our song'
@MilkyWhitesezMoo@xanga - .....AHAHA! I MADE A WEDDING PLAYLIST TOO! It's all planned out, what I'm walking down the isle to, our dance, one Imma sing for him ahhaha. What we're gonna dewit to! It's all there. He doesn't know either 0_0...I don't think I'll ever tell him.
We have like two songs, one from before we were dating that we got into a fight about haha. After a breakup it temporarily ruins it, but if it's a good song, it's a good song, and I'll keep listening to it eventually.
Anberlin- Dismantle Repair
@AtLeastWereStillAlive@xanga - LOL omg i'm so glad theres someone else i was almost gonna take that comment down cause it felt so lame lol. (and yeah the only reason i'd tell him is if we WERE getting married. which would NOT be anytime soon, that's for sure)
@hannahlovesdoug@xanga - "lucky" is one of ours too, i'd say. tho, that's because he knows what a huge mraz fan i am/have been, and since we WERE friends for years before, it was something he mentioned when we first started dating.
