Miss Rhino
Do you believe in unicorns? My friend Erin does. But not the mythical creature. Her unicorn stands on two feet, plays basketball and is a few years older than her. Erin has loved this man for the majority of her lifetime, but he is completely unattainable to her. At any given point in time, he either has a girlfriend or is thousands of miles away. Therefore, he is her unicorn. That perfect creature that you can never quite get your hands on long enough to.... ride. (Sorry. I had to do it.)
Have you ever loved someone from a distance? They are your perfect soulmate, but for one reason or another, you know you could never be together. Magically delicious but as untouchable as Robert Pattinson walking through LAX airport. Destined to pine after them for an eternity.
Do you have a unicorn? Has your unicorn ever turned into your SO?

That's an interesting concept!
I liked my boyfriend for about a year before we started dating and I NEVER thought we'd ever be together. I guess he was like a unicorn then. Hah. [Apparently, he liked me at that time too.. it's funny how things work out sometimes].
Wow, that was a total let down.
I was really hoping for a story about an actual Unicorn.
Bastards.
Yes I do. Love completely (not just romantic love), but unattainable.
Sad sad...
I've never had a unicorn until a good friend of mine pointed it out to me. She calls my boyfriend "The Unicorn" - she started that about 5 months ago. It's stuck. But, looking at it from an outside perspective, I can see why she says that. All I know is he's incredible, and I plan to keep him around for a while.
I have liked someone from a distance. My 'unicorn' was my ex, who just so happened to like me when I did, too. But he was too shy to do anything that time. We got together about six months after I 'officially' was crushing on him.
RPatz is my future husband, so I don't consider him mythical. I don't think I've ever considered a guy mythical either because if I like someone, I have no problem giving it a try and seeing if he likes me back. However, there is a girl I know who is like a goddess. Everything she does is perfect and she always looks great and, from a distance, everything about her and her life is completely perfect and she can't be mortal. I'm jealous haha.
It's more like he's every other girl's unicorn cuz he's the perfect man and they all know it cuz he's the kinda guy every girl wants, yet he's with me and always will be and so he will never be touched by another girl again. I take much satisfaction in that fact.
I met him on a vacation- we would've been perfect together!
But we're both youngish, and live in seperate countries...haha
@ViciousGrin63@xanga - sorry to disappoint. for your time, here you go
So there has always been this guy, since i was 15 actually. My sister hooked up with her brother and that is how we met. I met him when I was 13 but our friendship suddenly turned into a lil more when I turned 15. Well point blank since I was 15 either he had a girlfriend and I was single or I had a boyfriend and he was single. He became my best friend for a while...after his high school graduation we would only get in contact when my sister would take "our" niece...his and mine...to their house....I have kissed him twice...our times together are unforgetable but now he and I are both married to different people .....yea we lost total contact a like two years ago...so he is my unicorn...i guess.......both my sister and i have very similar stories......haha oh well by the way i am now 22
yes, I have a "unicorn." unrequited pining is ridiculous though. either make a move and show him what you are, or get over it.
I was expecting a real unicorn story too :[
Uh-huh. And it sucks!
@ViciousGrin63@xanga - Lol! But an actual unicorn on datingish? Shouldn't that go on another kind of website?
@datingish - Oh god help us all! Lol
@datingish - I love Charlie the Unicorn!!
But aside from that, I enjoyed this concept(:
i had that. LOL. in california...after three weeks...walked through the SAN DIEGO AIRPORT lol and goodbye..butt i knew i would see him again
and yet i did. too bad i haves a mans. lol
I love this analogy.
I married my unicorn. I really thought he was unattainable and way out of my league.....so I just admired him from afar and never made a move. He however had liked me from the first time we met...and he pursued me pretty hard....cause I was oblivious. lol.
Hahahahaha, I just pictured telling that one person that he was my "Unicorn" LOL! Cute way to put it tho :) Unfortunately in my situation, I am my unicorn's unicorn too :P We'll never be able to be together though.
Well, that's how me and my boyfriend started out :P
One of my ex's is my unicorn-he and I have loved each other for years now, but something always stands in our way, and I just don't see it working. It's hard to explain, but yeah. There ya go.
Dang, I thought I came up with the term "unicorn" to describe people, but it seems like a lot of people use it.
I'm not into this concept. The idea that someone is above flaws or unattainable puts them "above" you. I don't feed into that. It sounds kinda romantic I guess... but I don't have any "unicorns" in my life.
@datingish - Wow, that was freakin' amazing.
Thank you.
I'm not really sure if I've had a "unicorn" in the sense that I've loved someone and couldn't be with them. However, I kind of feel like I have a unicorn right now as I have met someone that I really like but really have no future with (all because he has dreams of living & going to school in a different country). So, I guess I just keep looking for something that works better with my life!
