I know that's a weird question to ask. If you are blessed with the gift of hearing, of course you've heard yourself while fooling around with your SO. But somehow it's different when you hear it being played back to you via voicemail message.
Yes, you heard me. I recorded myself having sex on my voicemail. Completely by accident I assure you!
I had misplaced my cell phone somewhere in my apartment one night. I had my SO call it for me and we listened intently for the Bob Dylan ringtone. When we couldn't locate Bob or it, we abandoned the cause for sex....and, forgetting to hang up, recorded it for posterity on my voicemail, unbeknownst to either of us.
A few days later, I noticed I had collected quite a few voice messages and figured it was time to clear it out. I have a habit of letting them sit there for a while because I know exactly what to expect:
"It's Mom. Call me I miss you."
"Where are you? Call me soon."
"Why won't you call me back?"
"I will continue to call this number until I DO get in touch with you."

As predicted, I had a few pleading messages from Mom but the last message caught my attention. It was a jumble of commotion, quiet voices muttering vague phrases and then a very distinct moan. This continued on for quite the long time until the message ended. I was astounded.
Did someone really leave me a voicemail of themselves having sex. I immediately assumed my friend Tess to be the culprit and played the message for her on speakerphone about four times in a row. She was adamant that it was not her, and we giggled and laughed at the sensual sounds coming through the speakers. How embarrassing, poor girl.
On the 6th time around, it finally clicked. Those were my giggles and moans! It was certainly not what I thought I sounded like in the throes of passion. High-pitched and girly, I sounded like a 14-year-old trying to seduce a Backstreet Boy. Definitely not sexy. To tell you the truth, it has made me a bit self-conscious ever since.
Whether you've ever left yourself a sex-mail or not, I have a feeling I'm not alone in my worries. I've never been an advocate of silent sex, but after hearing myself from a third party perspective, I'm thinking it might be the best way to go. Don't even get me started on talking dirty. It's safe to say I'm never going down that alley after this bedroom catastrophe.
Are you ever self-conscious about making noise in the bedroom? Is you SO a silent partner or a vocal participant?

Eh I'm pretty vocal but most of the time I can't help. It all depends for my SO, sometimes he's quiet and sometimes not.
I would NEVER want to hear myself getting busy. I would be mortified! hahahaah
Hahaha. I hope I never have to go through that kind of embarassment and self-induced self-conciousness.
I only become self conscious if my boyfriend has to shush me (which isn't often, just the very, very few times we've had sex at eachother's houses when other people were home haha). He does want to videotape a session sometime (once wehave our own place of course), I'm definitely up for it, but there is a part of me that wonders if I will like what I hear (I'm already not a huge fan of my voice haha).

Im pretty silent though I have gotten more vocal lately. However Im still always paranoid that someone is going to hear us so I listen and make sure we arent too loud.
However now you've convinced me i should record myself and hear what I sound like.

Im pretty loud...lol hahaha...according to my partner. haha one time I was over his house and we were in his basement and hes like we can go up to my room...if you can be quiet....and I was like uhhh probb best to stay down here then. LOL
but im not rele self conscious about it cause I mean...i def think it turns him on more and he likes it. proof hes pleasing me I guess...who knows.
lol...I dont think you should have anything to worry about. in the throws of passion guys arent really nit picky about those things. Ive heard that they get into this zone where everything abt the woman is beautiful. Like thats why women shouldnt be self conscious when on top n if you feel they are staring at your belly fat cause they rele arent...they dont care. at that point they think you're the most beautiful amazing thing right then and there...
I'm sure your man would enjoy it though. Lol. How crazy, I'm not quiet in bed, nor am I very loud. Sometimes my SO would moan "yeah" or something, but he's not the loud grunting type..lol. He also never cussed, which is something my friend told me her SO did. Lol. "oh shit. fuck. damn. shit!"
Ha! I'm fairly loud...louder than I'd like, I suppose, but whatever.
About a year ago, there was an incident where my husband (boyfriend at the time) 's phone somehow got trapped underneath us, and called our roommate...who didn't pick up, but got a voicemail similar to the one you described. He was so amused by it, and ended up playing it for us, and our friends that were over, and our other roommates...oh well! Pretty mortifying at the time, but I got over it quickly.
I'm sorry but I lol'd when I read it. Don't worry, I've never even had sex yet >_>

I'm a little louder than I prefer but he likes it. If it starts to turn him on too much, he just put his hand over (which turns me on) or throws a pillow over my face til he relaxes a little.
I'm pretty sure his brother next to our room can hear us. His friends would tell us that he complains to them about us smashing. My boyf would be proud, and I'd be whatevs. We learned to turn something on (like a movie on our computer) to disguise the sounds.

My ex SO was a very vocal person (as was I) but we usually disguised the sounds by playing the radio or turning on a movie... For some reason the moaning and sounds would turn him on a lot.. such as whispering his name..

But I accidently called my DAD and left him one of those voicemails!! I guess I kicked my purse, or butt-dialed him, but it happened! Mortifying I know!!!
I just know that one day, he was like, "You left me a weird message..I could barely make it out. Take a listen."
Then I listened and heard us talking silently, with the radio going and I let out a few sighs! I was like oh-em-geeee.
But I don't think my dad realized what it was! =)

i never want to hear what i sound like during sex. i am way too vocal, and my boyfriend used to have to tell me to "shh"! or, "just kiss me when you feel like moaning", or the good old throw a pillow at me. haha he's loud sometimes... and when we get going we're both vocal with the dirty talk. it gets silly at times and we both know it but that's what makes us a great couple. we can say the stupidest things and act a fool even during sex and still love each other. <3

I don't think it's a big deal as long as others aren't present. Nobody wants to hear your mating moans and groans! So if you have room mates, you should definitely decrease the volume of your sweat session. Otherwise, they will end up inviting their friends over to listen to you guys have sex, which in my personal experience, an amazingly funny thing to do.

How embarrassing and funny...something to tell to super close friends in the future...but I've never heard myself as 3rd person before. I won't mind doing video tape but we have to delete it after watching it once.
LMAO. I've actually had the same kind of incident. I guess my boyfriend's phone was on the bed while we were having sex... He is notorious for Butt-Dialing as well... Anyway, the next day I got a missed call from my boyfriend with a voicemail, so I checked it and hear some rumbeling noises, some giggling then some moaning. I was furious!! I called him and asked what he was going and who he was with! I could've sworn I caught him cheating on me red-handed. After I let my rage out on him I met up with him later and showed him the voicemail. When he heard it he started laughing so hard and making me even more angry. Finally he said, listen to it again, that's you!! Phew! It WAS me! LOL. I had assumed he was cheating because I got the message the next day and not the same night, my phone is kind of slow sometimes. =/

I've been known to be quite "loud." And so far, none of my exes ever complained I was "too" loud, they've had experiences with women who were quiet as a fish and that creeps them out more than me being vocal about my "feelings" to say the least. And it bugs me when all I hear from my partner is ragged breathing or grunts like an animal. Some vocal correspondence would be nice of a change and wouldn't hurt if it came with a decent narrative. lol
