After spending a long weekend camping, my friends and I hadn't showered in days and we were looking pretty used up. Not only were we going au natural but our hair had a greasy shine that gleamed off our quickly dreading locks. I was pretty sure I had never looked worse. That was only until our guy friend told us we had never looked more stunning. There was something about that ... I guess we can call it the "one with nature" look... that he liked. No make-up, no fuss, just working with what God gave us.
I always thought guys loved being able to run their fingers through soft and silky hair. But apparently there are some guys out there who prefer to stroke a matted head of hair instead.
I know girls who tend to flock to the unkempt guy. For some reason they are drawn to their bed-head hair and scruffy facial hair. Yet I've never heard of a guy being attracted to that type of girl. At least until now.
So I ask you... taking into account the impending dreadlocks and freckled sun-kissed skin... is the un-washed look hot or not? What's the attraction?

Definitely not. Gross, brush your hair.
There is a difference between attractively messy and then unhygienic messy. Having a greasy shine in your hair would fall in the second category which is NOT hot. lol

Ahhh yes, the natural look. prefer it to the plastered with chemical crap that society forces upon you women.
What is it about it, it's different and different is good.

I like the "I'm not wearing makeup and I haven't done a thing to my hair, but I'm still way hot" look, as long as your hair is washed and not greasy.
Too bad not all chicks are blessed with pretty au natural looks. I, too, am not one of those chicks. I'd kill to not have to blow dry / straighten my hair or makeup my face and still be found hot. Kill. Haha.

It depends on how "One with Nature" we're talking. I had a friend who was a self-proclaimed hippy, and always smelled bad because she thought that she didn't need to use deodorant...And that showering once every three days is okay.
I shower once a day (unless it's a dirty day and I do it more) but I usually let my hair go for two days because it just feels better. But I'm not smelly!
So as long as you're not smelly, it's fine.
I can appreciate that. After our backpacking/camping trip, I think everyone looked unusually good, especially with the guys being all scruffy and rugged-looking.

Ehhh it depends. Sometimes I don't brush my hair, cuz then the waves get all weird and stuff BUT it doesn't look 'hygienic' bad. No grease, oily, weird look in my hair. I guess it ust looks natural and okay on me.
Shivers. Not hot especially with grease looking hair.

being dirty, or un-washed as you put it, is not attractive.
no make up hotter then with make up
combing/brushing hair is a great thing unless you have dreadlocks(dreadlocks you still wash your hair it is caused by not brushing your hair)

I like someone who can be comfortable without makeup or getting all dressed up.. But I'm really into people who shower on a regular basis..
I think "until our guy friend told us" are the operative words. this guy knows you from before, can appreciate you beyond your mascara'd looks. So he can think and say what he said. But let's pretend he was a complete stranger who just happens to run into you in the woods. Unless he's a sex-starved lumberjack I think he may think differently.

@whatalmostwas@xanga - Don't hide behind make up whatever you think about natural and good looking. we can see beyond the face paints as soon as you open your mouth and then it becomes irrelevant.
It looks cool but it doesn't smell good...
I love the way I look after a day outdoors. Rosy, freckly cheeks. Messy, dirty hair. Scuffed knees, browning skin, simple clothes. You can be dirty without being DIRTY, you know?
I will say that there is a limit to not washing your hair. You can only pull that off for three days and then you just look digusting. You're actually not supposed to wash your hair everday because your hair has natural oils in it which provide a natural shine. I find that when I haven't washed my hair for two days I get more compliments about my hair then when I try really hard to make it look kempt.
Conversely, I must say that scruffiness in a guy is very sexy :)
NOT HOT if you're actually dirty. If you want to sport that "dirty" look from time to time, you can try doing so by teasing your hair and skipping the makeup... but seriously, it's not attractive when you're actually dirty and smell greasy.
