A guy and his wingman. Truly the dating world's greatest duet. Excuse me while I disagree.
This weekend I was out with a bunch of friends, both guys and girls. One of the guys decided to buy shots for all of us as well as the three girls that were sitting next to us. These girls accepted the shots graciously, but never made the return effort to flirt back. The guy and his friends tried desperately to get the girls to join us at our table, but their advances were ignored. After watching these pitiful attempts, I took matters into my own hands.
I went up to the girls, introduced myself as well as my friends and invited them to come hang out with us. I explained it was our friend's going away party and we were all just trying to have some fun. Done deal. The girls let down their guard and joined our party.
It's a new age, gentlemen. And I am proposing the idea of a wingWOMAN for your dating pleasure.
Here is my reasoning.
1. Girls are often times hesitant of other girls. If a guy is hanging out with his girlfriends, his chances at meeting a new girl are very slim. The wingwoman can befriend the girl and make her feel welcomed. There is nothing I like better than a friendly girl. There's no queen bitch where I come from.
2. Girls take the pressure off. Having a girl as your wingwoman puts other girls at ease. There's no chance a girl would be hanging out with a serial killer at a bar. We know better than that. So by being approached by a guy and and his wingwoman, the creepster effect that some guys and their wingmen have is minimized.
3. Girls can pick out the good ones. As your wingwoman, we have your best interests at heart. And we aren't letting you settle for anything less than a 7. What if a Shrek approaches you? Well your wingwoman can immediately slip into girlfriend mode and back down the swamp creature. No harm, no foul.
So there it is. The wingwoman concept. A personal introduction assistant, if you will.
What do you prefer? Wingman or woman? Would you be a wingwoman to your guy friend?

Mmmmmm maybe. You'd have to work out a few kinks in your proposal though. Make it so that it won't be all about this "Wing-woman" helping the guy out and picking up chicks. There has to be something in it for us, besides new girl-friends.
Well, I've never actually had need of either, but I think that, depending on the situation, a wingman and a wingwoman could both be useful. Actually, it'd be kinda amusing if said wings were together, and made a combined effort to help the "third wheel" find a "fourth wheel." :Þ
I think I feel safer outside the club scene, actually. I don't exactly appreciate being hit on by random guys I don't even know and will probably never see ever again.
This concept sounds incredible...and I think it has a lot of great benefits. Okay...now that I've said that...who needs a wingwoman!?! *waves hand frantically in the air and says "pick me, pick me!" under breath*
I'm down to be a wingwoman. I feel it's more effective than a wingman.
@vashts6583@xanga - Yeah that sounds a bit more fun. Haha.
I wouldn't mind having a wingwoman, I guess? Or the opposite, being a wingman for a girl.
You are a great person with a wonderful heart helping your friends get laid. I need to find a WW.
Wingwoman! Heck yeah I'd be one but I don't wanna just be there to help him pick his chicks from the litter.
But, I ended up with a lovely girl, so I no longer needed to plan for an eventual wingwoman.
Good idea, tho.
oh man, i laughed out loud reading #3....hilarious. come to think of it, a wingwoman is a great partner to have when you're trying to pick up on someone. damn it, why didn't i think of it before?!
Hell, I once got my friend a girl's number without even trying. Well, it was a joke because she was with her boyfriend, but it was still amusing. I would totally love if a guy friend actually considered me good enough to be a wingwoman, cuz I think I could do it, but my friends... well, nevermind them. They're jerks.
Love the idea. Maybe I'll bring it up to a friend sometime.
I would do this in a heartbeat--for all of my platonic male friends. There is one that I would be unwilling to do this for, but that's out of personal interest :x Otherwise, heck yeah. I love this concept. :)
that's definitely true. that was my night tonight!! :)
a wingman doesn't help you get the girls to come over to the table, he takes the ugly one while you get the hot one! what you're talking about is not a wingwoman, its a shot to a man's game! he's a failure if it takes a female friend to trick the girls into coming over to hang out. you fail miserably!!!
why would I let the guy have the hot girl?! lol
nope, the hot ones I'll keep, thanks very much haha
My friend, Sam, has had this wingwoman theory for a while (just like yours!!). He figured that women would be more comfortable with other women and it would give them a chance to let down their guard. :)
This reminds me when Robin was Barney's wingwoman in How I Met Your Mother. It worked better than having a wingman.
LOLOL. One of my friends thought this one girl was really hot and he wouldn't stop telling me. He then asked me if he should ask her for her number and I was like, shouldn't you ask her for her name first? And he started being all hesitant so I went up to the girl and introduced both of us. Anddddddddd though nothing ever happened, as least they're friends on Facebook, right? Haha!
i'll take three. a redhead, brunette and blonde, this will totally be like megazord action.
I'm passing on this idea to someone. Good stuff!!!!
my friend calls me his wingwoman
i guess because i help him with girls, lol.yay XDThis is perfect.
I've never actually been called a wingwoman, all my guy friends always just call me their secret weapon/wingman.
I've helped my guy friends out a lot when it comes to the wingman department. I always find it funny that when I want their help they go on tirades about how the guy that I have my eyes on is not worth it or isn't good enough... blah blah blah.....
I would be a wingwoman. I think girls are more approachable than guys and if a girl were to come to me asking about one of my guy friends I'd talk to her. If she was cool enough I'd answer her questions about him then introduce them.
I wish I had wings...
I have been a wingwoman and found it was interesting, entertaining and extremely helpful to my male friend.
