Polish holidaymaker Magdalena Kwiatkowska says her daughter, age 13, fell pregnant from the swimming pool in their Egyptian hotel.While infertile women flock to the resort, Magdalena Kwiatkowska is seeking compensation from the hotel.Mum says “stray sperm” in the pool are the reason her child is with child.“The mother is adamant that her daughter didn’t meet any boys while she was there and is determined to go ahead with the case,” says one travel industry source.
Okay, honestly, this is like "the dog ate my homework" to an extreme level, and I think it's going to come out soon (just like
Star Tattoo Girl) that the girl lied because she was scared and didn't want to get in trouble, etc., etc., etc. Still, it makes me sad that this is a lawsuit - if you messed up, admit it and stop blaming someone else! Argh.
According to
AmericanPregnancy.org, "it is not likely that tiny sperm could travel through the vast area of water that would fill a pool, bath tub or hot tub to reach the vagina and result in pregnancy. If ejaculation occurred in plain warm water, sperm could survive for a few minutes. If ejaculation occurs in very hot water, or water filled with pool chemicals, bubbles or other substances, sperm would not be able to survive for more than a few seconds. Pregnancy occurring from this is very unlikely and in most cases is not possible at all."
What would your parents say if you told them you got pregnant from a pool? I think my dad would be, like, "oic..." and then "have I met this young male 'swimming pool'?"

there's no way she got pregnant from the pool. sperm can't survive in the water (like it says). but more importantly, the sperm would not even get all the way past the vagina. there's a reason why sex has to be performed the way it's performed for a person to get pregnant.

Wow, lame. I'm dumbfounded. I don't get how that mom could even believe that to be true, when statistically, it's not possible.
