Friday Fun: How Long Did Your Shortest Relationship Last?
My shortest relationship lasted a delightful three weeks. Whoops. He was nice and we had fun, but it wasn't meant to be. And while three weeks sounds pithy and, well, pitiful, I had friends who lasted with their guys for days - and one who only lasted a matter of hours.
What was the shortest amount of time you were officially dating someone? What went wrong and caused you to break up?

I have never been in a relationship, so for me the answer is zero seconds.
Weeks, hours, seconds, days is not a relationship.
1 week.
@englishpearl@xanga - that's totally not true
A week.
I was in a relationship with a guy for 3 weeks. Then we broke up because I realized he was still in a relationship with another girl when he started dating me, which made me rather unhappy.
@englishpearl@xanga - It's just an issue of semantics. "Exclusively dating," "boyfriend," "dating," "in a relationship"....whatever.
Maybe like 2 months. And we broke up because he was a jerk. But I'm glad we broke up, I didn't see he was a jerk until later.
I had a guy ask me to be his girlfriend and then 3 days later he texted me, "Um I made a mistake" and so that was the end of our "relationship" but he is still one of my good friends, kinda weird though since now he is engaged to a girl 4 years my junior (I'm 21 and so is he). Oh well, all's well that end's well eh?
@InTheThin@xanga - Yeah but do you think if you are exclusive with someone for one day you are in a relationship with them? No, you were probably just "in a realtionship" with someone who didn't have time to "be in a realtionship" with anyone else in one day.
@testubebaby@xanga - Well I believe it is, sorry.
I dated someone officially for 24 hours.
My shortest "relationship" was 2 weeks but I didn't count it as a real coupling because I was sort of pressured to "admit" we were dating.
From my 'real' relationships my shortest was four months.
@englishpearl@xanga - haha finally someone who see's it my way. Honestly if you can only last two weeks then its a fling, not a relationship. Crazy high school kids :) lol
(I remember people celebrating their "three week anniversary" and just rolling my eyes.)
A little over a month. He was my rebound guy after a much longer relationship had ended. I would've broke up sooner, but it's harder than it seems. :/
Two or three months. I don't really consider that a real relationship, though...but not because of the length. We were young and "together" in a sixth grade sense.
So, I guess out of my two really official relationships, the shorter was one year and three months. I've been in my current relationship for two years and five months.
@MangoWOW@xanga - lol! three week anniversary. I will admit though, I did celebrate my one month and then most months after that. but back in high school, it was a long time! lol
shortest was three weeks. stupid too, he broke up with me so later on he wouldn't hurt me...cute in a way actually. but hey its was high school and we were in grade 10
Seven months, and I wish it had lasted longer.
Like. An hour. o_O;;
But I barely even remember saying yes. And then felt horrible because I was sort of pressured to say yes. So... I don't count it.
A week and a half is my next shortest. (About four/five years ago. And now we're back together and celebrating 7 months today. ♥ )
half an hour. no lie. I should write about that story as an entry to FML.
Eight months.
22 months.
He claims he "grew up". I don't think so. He wanted more than I was willing to do sexually (he knew this from the get-go, so there shouldn't have been a problem). He cheated to get it.
I dated someone for about 2 weeks, then I broke up with him because he never talked to me (literally). This was back with I was a freshman in high school. He asked me out, said yes, then just never talked to me. So I broke up with him.
I dated him a year later and we got closer and had a (somewhat) healthy relationship for 2 years.
@MangoWOW@xanga - I roll my eyes too!
I don't really consider it a real relationship, but a week. He had a huge crush on me and chased me around forever. We started dating and I decided that I would never really feel the same about him, so I ended it before anyone got hurt. I was going away to college at the time anyway, so I probably shouldn't have agreed to it in the first place.
two weeks. then he flashed his penis.
not impressed.
Three days, then he broke up with me because his best friend liked me.
