We've all heard jokes about it in romantic comedies galore. There is more to a wedding than what meets the eye, and what I'm talking about goes on behind closed doors. More often than not, the single bridesmaids and groomsmen pair up almost immediately for some post-wedding fun. I went to a wedding this weekend, and at the reception I observed the truth behind this theory. I watched the women scope out the men like animals seeking their prey.
As they danced in sweaty invasive groups and downed shots of rum and tequila, the young singles weighed their options and chose their temporary mates. What is it about taffeta and floral arrangements that screams no strings sex and drunken mistakes?
You tell me. What's the deal with wedding sex?

Everyone knows that the bride & groom are going to be getting it on later. They just don't want to feel left out of all the fun.
Plus there's a shit ton of alcohol.
it compensates for the hours one spends wearing an ugly bridesmaid dress for
It probably has a lot to do with the alcohol.
been there, done that.
it comes down to single girls being depressed about being single when their best friend is getting married. or that's what I've heard... i wasn't depressed, quite the opposite. I was getting all the attention since i was the only single bridesmaid with 5 single groomsmen.
People are drunk, women are lonely, men are horny.
I think it's just the alcohol.
Mixture of alcohol and desperation to find love. Theory: My friends are getting married, I'm going to be left behind! (or something like that)
There weren't any hookups at my wedding, simply because most of the guys/girls were taken already. I do have a couple friends who met at another friend's wedding, and now they're getting married next year. So sometimes it's not just a one-night thing.

being at the wedding is like, aww, I need to find someone too!
I've been to over half a dozen weddings and have never seen this once, not one time. In fact I was freakin' best man once, hung out ALL day and night with the wedding party and there was not even one illicit look or kiss, not between anyone.
I always figured that this was just a standard of romantic comedies.
It's a clothes fluke, that's all
I think it's just because there are a lot of 20-somes and 30-somes, and theoretically, you'll be less likely to end up with a creepy because they are all friends and family of your friend who is getting married. Does that make sense at all? It makes sense to me. It's like being at a bar only without the gross pigs.
i'm going to a wedding at the end of summer... should i be getting my hopes up?
lots of alcohol and the idea of the happily ever after that enraptures a woman to a frenzy of "what if...?"
i'm going to a wedding in august.... considering my bf can't come, i better behave myself.
never been to a wedding but have heard of this happening.
tons of alcohol, single men and women who don't want to be lonely on the night of their friend's wedding, makes sense.
desperation?
I've been to weddings, but I never had a wedding hook-up.
@Liquid_Pain_523@xanga - Yep, those are the reasons
It's the alcohol and the horniness.
i don't hook up. ha. i wouldn't know. i think it's the alcoho and horniess taking over.
xo
... the hell? there's free alcohol in weddings? damn T_T
here is the mixture that night makes
1 part seeing two people hapy togethr for the rest of there lives
2 parts alc
1 part that guy/girl is good looking
2 parts horny from all of the above
@Liquid_Pain_523@xanga - and men are drunk, while being horny.
I have never hooked up at a wedding...maybe I've been invited to the WRONG Weddings where all the after reception--action happens??? 'Course I've also never been drunk at a wedding!
Weddings are a beast fest. I love'em. That's why everyone likes open bar weddings, it allows for the women to really let loose. It's also great because you can see this ridiculous amount of pressure put all on the single women there, where as its like a funeral for men. The married women sit there and get to poke fun at the single ladies... and then you reap the benefits a mere couple of hours later....
