Love at First Sight

Miss Antelope
There is no such thing as love at first sight. Love is an emotion that needs potential to develop. Like at first sight is plausible because like can refer to the initial physical attraction.Don't get me wrong, it is possible to meet someone and hit it off the first day. Does that really constitute as "love at first sight"?
I don't think so.
What do you think? Do you believe in love at first sight?

I've always, ALWAYS, had a true belief 'love at first sight' does not exsist. Everytime one of my friends gets a new boyfriend, within a day she's in love and wants to have his babies & grow old with him, never have i heard something so pathetic. If love is what it is made out to be, then it takes a lot longer than 'first sight'.
I totally believe it can happen. I am not foolish enough to discredit it just because I haven't experienced it. I do believe that the more likely answer is a strong infatuation. I fell in love with my current gf within a few weeks, so it would be a bit strange for me to completely disown the "love at first site" idea.
LUST at first sight is more like it. the word love is thrown around too carelessly these days.
I agree with you. Lust at first sight, like at first sight; but not love at first sight.
Nope.
um this is really hard but i think love def takes some time and development...now i wouldn't put rules or limits on that time....but i agree it's prob more like/chemistry/attraction/connection at first sight...sometimes you meet someone once and you do just connect so well but i don't think you can love someone that instant already....but if someone believes in love at first sight they have the right to esp if it happen to them.
i believe in lust at first sight ... love, eh not so much.
Billy Shears begs to differ.
i believe in chemistry.
love...?
i'm still re-learning how to believe in love.
nope. lust at first sight definitely exists, though.
@Miss_Antelope - ...getting to know a person's layers ...aaaand still wanting to be with them ;)
love at first kiss!
i would say lust a first site but thats it....Love just cant happen so quickly.
i think love at first sight, we only love what we see on the outside regardless who the person really is on the inside....
The phrase "love at first sight" annoys me to no end... call it what it is: "Lust at first sight." All you have is initial physical attraction. It may build from there ... and that's great. But love at first sight ... is a misnomer.
It's preposterous. Even enduring, abiding love over years is in question.
I knew from the time I saw my current boyfriend of almost 2 years, that I would someday be with him, and we would be more in love than I could put into words. =]

i'm not sure, but when i saw my husband for the first time in 4th grade, i felt "drawn" to him. Like he was going to be important to me.
then I was always convincing him to break up with his girlfriends for different reasons. I was very protective.
and that definitely wasn't lust. lol we were 9.
I don't believe in love at first sight. I believe you can be immensely attracted to someone right away, but must truly know someone to truly love someone.
I don't believe in the concept of "love at first sight" but I believe that people use that term as....They believe that when they first saw that certain someone that they knew in their gut that it was going to be the person they spent the rest of their life with. Or maybe not even at the time they didn't realize that it was going to be the person they spent the rest of their life with, but they definitely knew that their was something so much more different about that person.
no. only like/lust at first sight.
infatuation at first sight
Lust. Unless you've been talking for a few years on the internet without ever seeing a photo of each other and then when you finally do meet you know exactly who it is that you're talking to, so it is a little like love. Yeah I'm just rambling. Ignore me.
I don't really believe in love at first sight. But I do believe that you can fall in love very quickly. Even after a couple of days.
I agree with you 100%!
