Love at First Sight

Miss Antelope
There is no such thing as love at first sight. Love is an emotion that needs potential to develop. Like at first sight is plausible because like can refer to the initial physical attraction.Don't get me wrong, it is possible to meet someone and hit it off the first day. Does that really constitute as "love at first sight"?
I don't think so.
What do you think? Do you believe in love at first sight?

I'll believe it if it ever happens to me. I believe in lust at first sight, but nothing more.
Pupils dialate! XD
Hmmm, my mom said when she met my dad, it was love at first sight. O.o?@mudkiwi@xanga - Exactly.
i'll believe in love at first sight when I'll see my first UFO...
I believe in it because I've had it happen...it's just when I don't know, you look at someone, you see them for the first time and something inside of you just connects with something inside of them and you know everything there is to know about who they are and love all of it in an instant. I've only had it once and I'm still in love with the person. It turned out everything I thought I knew about him when I first saw him ended up being true. Maybe that's just chance, or luck, but I'd like to just call it love at first sight.
No. Maybe attraction or affinity or chemistry, but not love.
Lust at first sight is more accurate
As some people have said already, lust at first sight is probably a better description. Love at first sight is just a phrase.
In Disney it's true!!!!
Well, sometimes you just meet that person and KNOW there's something there, potentian, attraction, excitement... and after that, you hope for the best. And hey, sometimes you do get the best!
It only occurs in Disney movies and books!
I believe in emotional imbalance at first sight...
I believe in lust at first sight, but love is a development. Maybe it takes 5 years, maybe it takes 5 minutes, but that's not LITERALLY first sight.
i don't believe in love at first sight. i believe in "like" and chemistry though.
I don't know...maybe I started to fall in love with my fiance when we first met?
Love never stops, you're always falling more in love, there's no end to it.
lust at first sight.
i only believe in love at first sight when it come to attire. such as a pair of jeans, or some very nice shoes.
@m0leymol3y@xanga - Amen to that. :o) I always say to my friends, "I fell in love this weekend..." "WHO?" "With a pair of SHOES."
i think it does count..lol
i mean i met my S.O. after months of talking on the phone..Seeing each other for the first time made what we were feeling..i guess you can say.. official..=]
no, i wish it was true.
semantics. what does it matter?
LIKE at first sight. I wish it were true though =/
It's phermones at first sight.
I tend to think that it's more "ATTRACTION AT FIRST SIGHT" than "love." Like you pointed out, love is an emotion that takes time to develop through trust, communication and (bond) experiences.
I felt that way for my current bf...definite attraction at first sight. I saw him and tuned everyone else out even though we hardly talked. lol.
Out of all the 3 times I've fallen in love, I've yet to experience love at first sight. Yes, I've seen a dude and thought to myself, "he's hot", but that is purely external based. To me, love means digging deep and getting to know a person's layers.
