  • The Itsy Bitsy Spider Went Up My F***ing Shorts

My room in my apartment has one window that overlooks my fire escape and the trees in my tiny backyard. In the summer, mosquitoes and all sorts of delightful creatures must hang out and just wait for me to open my window so they can feast on me and whoever else happens to be in the room.

    Last night was no exception.

My BF and I came home and it was so hot that we opened the window, turned on my fan and uncorked the ice cold booze we'd bought in an effort to cool off. We ended up getting distracted, one thing led to another and we were making out on my bed. Here's essentially what the layout is like in my room:

I'd seen one bug come in through the window but ignored it, figuring it wouldn't stay long and would go back outside. After a couple minutes of fooling around, my backside started to itch like crazy right above my shorts line, close to my lady business.

By the time more clothes were off, it itched even more and I could feel it swelling. I ignored it and we kept getting busy.

After all was said and done, BF asked if the bite still itched. "I saw it in the mirror earlier and it looked pretty bad." Hot.

I checked it out in the most discreet way possible and yeah, I had gotten three bites in a row, starting right below my butt and moving inward. They got progressively smaller as they went in, but the biggest one was an inch long and an inch wide. I shut the window. I would rather be hot for the rest of the summer than bitten all over...and I do mean all over. We're pretty sure they were spider bites - they were way too big to be from mosquitoes. Disgusting.

He and I have been together nine months and there's not a lot I don't feel comfortable about doing or saying around him, but I was so frustrated and grossed out about the whole situation that I would have rather just said "g'night" and gone to bed right then and there. We ended up staying up and watching TV for a while, but I couldn't shake how weird the situation was and how strangely uncomfortable I was about the whole thing.

Whatever the reason may be, have you had weird moments with your SO where you're uncharacteristically uncomfortable? What can you do to shake the feeling? Also, if you have spider repellent tips, I'm all ears.

Diatomaceous Earth. Sprinkle it around and you'll have no bugs. Plus it's natural or some good shit like that.

greet that spider with a hearty fart.

Oh God.  That is scary as hell.  =P

God, I hate finding/getting bitten by bugs in my room.  Our AC's out right now, so my choice is pretty much suffocate or open the window... and apparently the screens leave something to be desired.  Fortunately, we have guys installing a geothermal system as we speak, so hopefully won't have to keep the window open much longer...

    That sucks!!

What does a spider bite (the non toxic ones) look like anyways?

Oh my GOD I would have flipped the FUCK out!!!!!

An embarrasing moment that made me awkward around my hubby.... *thinks* Oh!

This one night we were sitting there watching a movie and I felt the need to fart. I've farted in front of my husband a billion times before so it was no biggie right ?  We ate mexican for dinner that night and I was especially gassy.  Well, I thought it would be funny to fart on him (because he does it to me ALL THE TIME) so I got up and pointed my ass in his direction.  I squeezed it out and started laughing my ass off!  He was not laughing and he had this disgusted look on his face, I looked down and I had sharted on him!!!  I was so very embarrassed.  My face is turning red now just typing it.  It was definitely akward for the rest of the night and that's hard to do!!  This man watched me have a baby... lol

Invest in a bug screen, it keeps out some dust and most bugs.Or invest in an AC unit. You should have not have ignored the bug coming in when you saw it, ew! kekeke funny story though.

try putting listerine in a spray bottle and spraying around the window on the window frame.  or just get a window screen.

  • kor_girl@xanga

PLEASE GET A SCREEN for that window!! EEEP just reading about this entry makes me glad that I HAVE a screen and hope the future bf also has one installed in EVERY window of his place...ugh.....*shudder* Spider bites are bad... and if you scratch it (which you will) they take longer to go away (marking wise) which makes you feel a whole lot violated than before. ugh... The idea that the bug is crawling and biting....ugh... ugh...*shudder* I can't think of this in any constructive way at this moment....visuals.....spider...ewww

That sucks. I hate it when I get embarrassed or uncomfortable about things that I know I shouldn't. Spider bites are killer, man. One bit me on the knee once, and to top it off, I got a staph infection in the bite randomly. I cleaned it and everything!

I don't like talking about my health issues in front of my boyfriend and I get really embarrassed when I start to feel sick around him. No clue why. Maybe it's my subconscious trying to hide bad genetics so he'll have babies with me. XD

@Meowmeowkimmaee@xanga - Yeah, I've heard about the bananas too! I hear it's because of the potassium or something in them, or that the banana makes you give off a strong chemical scent marker that allows the mosquitoes to lock in. Weird stuff.

  • Meowmeowkimmaee@xanga

@Mangonese@xanga - My teacher once peeled open a banana and found a tarantula inside. Disgusting. I've stopped eating bananas, but my doctor said I naturally have something in my blood [that chemical, maybe] that attracts the bugs. I think you have it too. Our blood is "sweet", she said.

  • mindyeat@xanga

Yeah if someone put there face in my crotch i would feel awkward

  • HeartOfPandora@xanga

    @Kevin_is_a_pirate@xanga - LOL, epic win.  /finishes watching Spider-Man

I am SO sorry that happened! Can't even laugh because I got bit not once, but twice by a brown recluse right in between the cheeks (one on either side)! I couldn't sit for a fucking week after I had surgery! I freak if I even see a spider now. Keep a close eye on it and make sure it doesn't get infected...

I definitely have had some embarrassing moments with my boyfriend. I won't go into detail because thinking about them still makes me want to blush or giggle awkwardly  I think it pretty much comes with the territory of having a relationship though. We all do something not so flattering every once in a while...
