Miss Rhino
My friend and I were at our favorite bar the other night, and we were on a mission. Find men. We strategized over the best place to stand to attract a mate. First we decided to stand by the bar. There I was attacked by an older man whose pick-up line was molded around our matching Blackberrys becoming friends later on that night. I felt sad for him. Moving on. Next we decided to sit down at a table. Two young men took it upon themselves to sit down with us. While I can't speak for the guy talking to my friend, the guy I was talking to was no catch. He told me that he had taped every episode of Sesame Street and then transferred them to DVD and watches them every night before bed. He said I could come over and watch with him sometime. How romantic! Fail. So we made our move back to the bar where we finally found the two young stallions of our dreams.
There they were, chatting over their Coors Lights looking all handsome in their oxford shirts and perfectly fitted jeans that aren't too tight, but just tight enough. They were stunning. We made our move. But just as we wiggled our way up to where they were, the eyes of the young men were drawn to two other females on the hunt. Cougars.
That's right. Cougars. Couldn't have been a day younger than 35. I have to admit I was jealous.
Great outfits, great hair, great bodies. They were workin' it. And the two young boys next to them just couldn't get enough. Essentially, they were Milfs that were actually attainable. I couldn't take my eyes off this train wreck. My perfect soulmate was eyeing up someone who could be a mother of two for all he knew. These guys were eating up the meal these cougars were dishing out. I just couldn't believe it.
What is the infatuation with cougars? My friends joke that I'm going to grow up to be a cougar. At first, I loved it. I thought of it as a compliment. A hot older woman whom all the young guys flock to. That sounds simply fantastic to me. But after watching these older women throwing themselves at guys half their age, I was immediately put off to the idea. It was depressing to watch. I hope to be happily married at that age, not going out to bars in a college town and hitting on unemployed graduates that still live at home with their parents, who are probably my age.
But that doesn't stop the men from craving them. Just look at Ashton and Demi Moore. Is it the glory of going home with someone who could have been your middle school teacher? Is it the fact that they pay for your drinks instead of paying for theirs? What is it that makes cougars such a commodity for young guys these days? And should I be offended that I may be one some day?

You found your perfect soulmate in a bar chatting up a cougar?
I know some guys who only dates older women, they can be called cougars or milfs, whatever but they like them for those speculations above. They feel women in their own age are too immature and naive to handle; whereas such said women are experienced, wise and not in a hurry. They don't want to find a guy to date long term and discuss possible marriages, but enjoy their sexual appetites and move on...or so the idea goes. lol
Cougars is a horrid term....and a 35 is hardly one. I know plenty of men in solid marriages and long term relationships with women 10-20 years older. And, I know a 59 yr old about to marry 29 yr old and they have a beautiful, loving relationship. I see a lot as wedding a photographer. Age is just a number. Sorry if you think it cuts into your "market."
catchy title.. i personally would not be a happy camper if i someday got catagorized under Cougar.. id rather somethin abit more exotic lol.
good on the women for having the confidence to go out at that age and believe that they could have a man half their age, id praise them for that alone :)
@Dare2BDiferentt@xanga - Yeah, what the fuck?
@Dare2BDiferentt@xanga - ahaahaha<333
Cougars still living Rock 'n' Roll 80's in the new age are the best.
Also, I was unaware people fell so fast, and so hard for bar flies. Soulmate?
@Dare2BDiferentt@xanga - Hahaha...exactly
@Dare2BDiferentt@xanga - Yeah, I was stunned by that, too. I love where the bar is being set right now.
Is it really unclear why older women are successful at attracting younger men? Really? I'm not sure where the mystery is here.
Thirty five is "older women"???
Cougars are on the prawl. When my friend and I break the ice on the dance floor, we always get the most forward, sexually inviting comments.
Totally a turn off. It usually goes something like this.
Cougar: "So you don't mind dancing with older women?"
Me: "I don't discriminate, I just want to have a good time"
Cougar: "Show me you askdjfhkajsdfhasdkf"
Yes, they are usually bad mamma jammas, but I guess I'm the type of guy that enjoys the chase as well as somebody who is within my own age range thank you
@psykoaznballa@xanga - This made me laugh out loud. I think that answers the question of whether you should be offended that you might grow up to be a cougar.
My Aunt is a cougar...she's in her late 40's and doesn't date guys older than 30.
Her current catch is 24 (3 1/2 years older than me... he should be dating me! except I don't know the dude...).
I wouldn't ever want to do that though...
LOL, I wrote a post about cougars once and used the exact same picture. Hilarious.
Anyway, I've always wanted to be a cougar.
the guys probably have mommy issues or always wanting to experience "mrs. robinson" just once. who knows. my coworker is 38 and her bf is 27. i asked her once why she liked younger men and she says it's because she can train him but i've seen them together and he's way immature for her and sometimes the biggest kid and they also have a baby on the way.
@Dare2BDiferentt@xanga - I couldn't really get past that part without laughing. "Perfect soulmate"? Riiiight...
I think it would be flattering to have younger men flocking to me when I'm in my 30s and up, but I don't think I'd date any of them.
i'm sorry did you seriously say that you found your soul mate in a bar ... ?
@psykoaznballa@xanga - lmao "bad mamma jammas"
+ cougars just sounds ... idk. odd. like they're these wild animals in the jungle. they're just more mature women ... 35 doesn't seem that old to me.
Cougars are hot because they most of the time have a lot of confidence which younger women usually don't have. Attracting a cougar is also more of an accomplishment than attracting a younger woman or a woman your own age. All you have to do to attract a younger woman is have a job, be good looking, wear nice clothes, have a good personality, be able to make her laugh, be romantic but not too romantic and overall be a nice guy but not too nice. Older women are harder to figer out. Hot young women in their late teens 18,19 and in their 20's have the idea that since they are hot every guy will fall head over heels for them and they are kind of pompous but hot older women are usually clueless about how hot they are and are more down to earth. Perfect example is Beyonce she kind of likes to show of and by her song Irreplaceable she thinks she can easily have any man she wants. Alicia Keyes on the other hand is more down to earth and doesn't feel she is the hottest woman ever.
I personally like to call cougars "MANthers" (you know, like 'panther'?) instead. Epic fail.

They're not whiny, petulant, clingy young things and they know all the hot buttons with their eyes closed - does that answer the question?
Cougars know what to do in bed...years of experience!
I'm not a cougar but I will be if I was 40+ and single/divorced. lOL
My guy friends thought it would be funny to gang up and call me a cougar. I pointed out the simple fact that I seemed to be the only one with prospects in the horizon. That ended the conversation. Besides, I still attract their teenage brothers.
Being a cougar does not mean that you are a MILF. There are some gorgeous women out there without an ex-husband or a grip of kids in boarding school. It just means that you're older and your confidence is banging!
