TMZ:
Chris Brown has copped a plea in his assault case. He won't do jail time. He's also been ordered to completely stay clear from Rihanna. He'll spend 180 days probation in Virginia which is where Brown lives - it's equivalent to Caltrans or graffiti cleanup. He gets 5 years probation for FELONY assault. He'll get supervised probation. He'll have to come back to court every three months. He must enroll in a domestic violence counseling program.
That's it?!
Is this a fair punishment? If not, pretend you're the judge and give a ruling of your own.
We'll compile what you guys have to say about the ruling and post tomorrow with the results. There might even be pie charts! How you like them...charts?

He needs to serve some prison time
I agree. He needed to do some time.
It's more than any woman would get.
My opinion will be VERY unpopular Im sure, but I think for a first offense that this is pretty good. However maybe his sentence should have been a tad more serious (like house arrest or something) consider how violent the attack was (judging by the pictures at least).
forty lashes with a whip.
or (tied up) thirty seconds as (insert champion boxer's name here) punching bag.
Blah.
Personally I think he got what he deserved. There are so many rumors about what happened and what didn't happen and after breaking them all down I honestly see no reason for him to spend time in jail.
I mean, gosh, his career is already ruined.
This is unacceptable! He deserves JAIL time! He committed a FELONY.
I think he should have did jail time
This is what he gets for putting his hands on someone and thinking he can get away with it. He beat her like a man and that..... NOONE should get away with. He caused this on himself and im glad rihanna didnt drop the charges (which she almost did thank god she didnt). I think he was trying to be lovey dovey with her after the beatig happen so he could clear his name and get out of the court system well he got played and now he is going to suffer...well not as bad sense he isnt doing jail time.
JAIL TIME
That makes me happy :)
His career, his name.. is all ruin already. I think he got what he deserved by now.
better than nothing
ah, celebrity "justice." probation is pretty weak.
Yeah, house arrest would be good.
Beating a woman is never okay !!! But we forget Chris has money, rich people and famous people get off the hook. Are system is failing us !!!
@Spongebobandbeyond@xanga - LOL i have a small lady friend that tried to push a cop out of her house once. He charged with with assulting an officer. That's a felony. Law isn't always what it's cracked up to be. Aside from his career, he's famous. Everyone that knows who he is, knows he beats women. He won't be able to settle down for who knows HOW long.. His family's name is ruined. And 5 years is a long time to be on probation, not able to make ANY mistakes, or else having to finish your sentence in prison. It's a fair exchange.
If it was any other person I'll bet that they would've went to jail.
He's already known to the entire country as an abuser. I think 5 years probation is enough. Though I'm sure any non-celebrity would have gotten worse, whether or not it's actually a fair punishment or not.
Even though he was guilty in the public eye, and rightfully so. The reason that he got such a lame sentence was because the DEA had a rubbish case against him, and chances are they would have spent more time than it was worth.
Also any plea deal would have gone past Rihanna, and so she obviously saw it fit.
i agree w/ those who already said he got what he deserved. [i know unpopular opinion.. but whatever.] his whole life now has this stigma, and will never be the same. i don't think jail time would help any more than counseling will. especially for a first offense. if it happens again, jailtime ferser.
surprising. not. he's a celebrity. get over it.
heh heh.
Let's stone him! *Picks up a rock
Did they just announce this verdict?
I think he deserves some time in jail.
Fucking douchebag piece of shit scumbag.
