I started watching the first season of
How I Met Your Mother**. In one of the episodes, the topic of the "lemon law" came up.
What is the lemon law? Well, I looked it up on Urban Dictionary and found a definition. There's some sort of lemon law that has to do with cars not meeting quality and performance standards, but that's something completely different. Here's the definition I found:
I've never used the "lemon law" when going on a date with a girl. I've gone on a bad date or two, but I endured the pain and fought through it. After that, I let those girls down gently (or at least I think I let them down gently.) They might hate me now, but eh... it happens.
Have any of you ever implemented the "lemon law"?

Or you could just not go on a date with someone who might make you want to "lemon law" them in the first place.

Lemon law is awesome. Unfortunately, I don't think it'll work quite well for me because I'm an art major, and most guys I'm exposed to are expecting me to not have much going for me besides my brain.

I've never lemon lawed, but How I Met Your Mother is awesome, I've been catching up on it this term. At least, the lemon law will stop you from doing that "OHMYGOD, my uncle Bill just went to the hospital and they need me to donate a kidney, bye!" thing Barney did in the show to get out of his date.

I just started watching it too. After Friends ended, my mom and I had Scrubs, now that's over, now we have HIMYM. Lemon law is brilliant.
I LOVE HIMYM but I really don't like the Lemon Law because my time is money and if I made an effort to GIVE someone that time to see me but he walks out on me...that's just rude. It doesn't have to END up as a bad date, it could end up as a good friendship or at least an amusing story. Same goes for the guy, I have respect for other people's time (their time is money too) and I wouldn't waste their evening by throwing the lemon law in their face. I'd stick out a bad date for an hour min to do the courteous thing.
