Ex-BF and I used to make out on his futon (HOT!). My current BF had a twin bed before upgrading to a normal sized mattress. Both were kind of workable, but...not really. Unless you two are sitting on the bed and playing Go Fish, twin beds are not made for two people. My friend has nearly fallen out of a (lofted!) bed while fooling around with her special someone, and someone I know actually did fall out of her bed and hit obstacles on the way down. "A fun memory," she says sarcastically.
College was not so nice - being squished up against the wall or ready to fall out of bed is not a good way to count sheep. My bed at home right now is a queen and it's niiiiiiiiice - there's enough room for me to sprawl out if I'm alone and plenty of space for the boyf if he's over...I don't think I could downgrade to a twin again.
If you've ever had a twin bed and someone to join you in it, how did you make it work? Have you ever had a wipeout like my friends have?

one on top of the other.. haha....but no.. twin beds are not made for two people...
Oh it can work; just expect a lot of touching and body tangling.
Twin beds work fine, if you like cuddling, and aren't too big.
I hated being in a twin bed with my bf. It was cramped, hot and way uncomfortable. His futon is better, bu tnot as comfortable as a real mattress. And then there's my bed at my parent's house. It's a King and too big :P When he sleeps over, we try so hard to stay close to eachother and wake up constantly to scoot closer to the other person. Full beds are the best! Not too small to where it's cramped, but also not too big to where you have to crawl and shimmie your way over the mattress if you want to cuddle or just stay close to your S.O. lol
I have a full sized bed. It works great. Twin, not so much. =[
LOL, I am lucky. I'm very petite. I'm only 5' and quite thin as well. I've never fallen off a twin while sharing it.
hmm... at college, my friends and i would have sleepovers in each other's dorm rooms and i think we had 3 of us in one twin size bed. hehehe.
If you're not huge and you don't mind cuddling, twin beds are fine. If you like to toss and turn, you're big, or you're not a fan of cuddling.. you have a point.
I like futons.
I've slept on a Twin mattress my whole life, so when college came around, and Twin XLs were the order of the day I had no qualms (actually pleased they were longer so I could fit. :Þ) And honestly, I've been the 5th in a pile of 5 on a Twin. Not the most comfortable exactly, but Twin means two, so don't think you can't for two or more. :þ
lmao I've only had a twin my entire life & luckily both my bf and I are fairly small people so we fit on a twin bed. (:
lol. It wasn't for fooling around but I've been on a twin bed with my female friend and we fit fine until one of us made a sudden move.
(I fell off... -__- )
But...why are they called TWIN beds then????
Twin beds work just as well as any other bed does. You just have to know what you're doing and prepare yourself for a whole lot of closeness.
OMG! I got used to it after awhile... but the bf and I have lived together numerous times in a twin... at my house, then at college, now at our apt... but luckily we also have a futon at our apt so that's the new bed =)
I'd fall asleep in the same position every night cause it was the only way comfortable =x
i had 5 boys in my twin bed before.
twas nasty. :P
My boyfriend and I used to make due on my twin mattress. Neither of us are particularly small, but we made it work and slept fine. Neither of us ever fell off.
You're telling me. Sheesh! Queen size and up only. I would consider selling a kidney for a California King.
btw, "boyf" sounds TERRIBLE. it sounds like barf and thus isn't cute.
Two people in a twin bed should only happen during college.
Lol I never had a problem with twin beds. If you wanted to switch positions, you couldn't just roll to the side, but that wasn't too big of an issue. My ex's were cuddlers, so they liked sleeping in those fine, although I can't fall asleep if I'm in bed with someone, don't know why.
@sarahzthoughts@xanga - yeah thats my thought exactly!
@StephhhMurph@xanga - So by that logic is a full-size bed a quadruplet bed or something?
my boyfriend still has a twin bed. it was hard to get used to at first, but i just kind of stay in one position all night long haha. whenever i sleep over, we usually just spoon.
floor, shower, chair, couch, etc.
@sarahzthoughts@xanga - I know, right? So that means a 'single' would be half a mattress...you decide which way to cut it, lol.
One girl asked about my bed size and when she found out it was a twin, she turned me down. As for making it work, sleeping on our sides and spooning.
