Miss Antelope writes, "I feel like some guys have this idea that expensive cars will buy them hot girls. Not only, do I think this is ridiculous, but why would you want a girl who only likes you for your car?
What do you think? Would you date a guy just because he has hot wheels?"
I'll come out and say it: I would totally date a guy who owned a Lamborghini just for his car. Even if we only went out once (and that would probably be the case...), I would love to see what it feels like to zoom around. So there you go. I am shallow.
I had a friend who wouldn't let me drive around his neighborhood - I had a dented Mercury Sable and he was, like, "um, I'll drive. Your car is an embarrassment and I don't want to be seen in it." We are not friends anymore.

i would. why not? lol
nope
i totally would. call me shallow but you only get to experiance some things once. =] haha.
nope.
erm, it depends... if it's a SUPER riced out car, I might be embarassed due to it's extremely and unneccessary loud sounds and lights and avoid being in it. If it's a car that's hardly driveable because it's falling apart, it's just not safe for me, aesthetically and safety wise.
but at the same time, I wouldn't date a jerk because he drove a masserati (such a hot car) or something equally flashy. I wouldn't put up with that crap...no matter how hot the car is. If they have a normal car; civic, acura, nissan....whatever that is "commonly known" these days, I wouldn't care. My own car isn't flashy; it's a 1994, nissan sentra and my hubcaps are missing, so if a guy was embarassed by MY car, I'd be taken back by that. And no point holding a doubled edged sword eh?
and a guy who owns a flashy car, is it really his or what his parents bought it for him? there is that too.. bottom line: a nice, dependable ride is fine, it doesn't have to be a BMW or a Benz to get my attention. I love looking at hot cars but it's just a car in the end of the day... lol and it does NOT make the man better. :)
No. If all a guy has to offer is a nice car, he's not worth the time.
I'm shocked people actually said 'yes.' Are we really that shallow?
I would. Me + Cars = Heaven. And if you like the guy, that's just a bonus.
i wouldnt.
i am not that kinda person. Your car is pretty to look at, but really is the person driving it worth it? XD
Wow...some shallow bitches up in here.
@pillowpixies@xanga - Damn straight.
so when i first moved out here to california, i met a few guys that lived in the bay area and the first time i started to know these guys, they would tell me the type of car they drove. i was like "so i don't care, i drive a honda accord." to me it's basically just to show off to the girl that they have good taste and like the finer things in life, but me personally wouldn't date a guy just because he had a nice car. i grew up in the body shop business, i work in the car industry, i like nice car but only if the nice car was mine.
I used to try and persuade my dad to let me walk by myself to school when all we had was a rusty Chevrolet Caprice. So embarrassing!!! I was SO glad when we got our 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe.
The guy doesn't have to have a Lamborghini, but a piece of trash isn't really acceptable either. But I don't have a car so I can't be picky. And no, I won't date someone solely for his car...he'd have to be good-looking, too =P I kid, of course.
my Xeon headlamps brings the girls to the yard ^_^...
and the guys O_o;...
I'd rather walk, thanks.
nice to know because I own a lamborghini with a honda fit shell for security.
Nope. I'm not even close to being a car person, so chances are I wouldn't even know I was in a nice car.
weird hearing a guy say "i'll drive. i dont want to be seen in your car". no, i wouldnt date a guy based on his car cause i drive a pretty decent car myself so i dont really care. as long as the car has basic necessities like air con and automatic roll down windows, we're good.
If and ONLY if he has a Lamborghini...
anything less then it's a no.
:P
@Theophilus166@xanga - I was shocked too. Shocked that the question had to be asked, even.
That's absolutely terrible.
No way, even if he had a ferrari. Don't have much an interest much in cars anyway
No. That's stupid.
Yeah, I coudn't do it.  Cars aren't that serious with me.  I actually pretty new to the whole driving thing so I'm happy just having a car that goes from A to B...Whether the car is 1,000, 10,000, or 100, 000 doesn't make a diff because they all do the same thing.  A guy needs to impress me with his personality, not his car.  His car isn't going to make up for whatever personality or other qualities he lacks.
Like you, I'll probably go on a date or two but if he's not for me, he's not for me. But I don't care what kind of car my boyfriend drives as long as the car works and it doesn't die on us every few wks.
